Don't Be Like Your Mother?! (Marriage Secrets)

Leah answers these questions:
0:00 Intro
0:25 I get the feeling from my husband often that he doesn’t think I am a good mother. My kids are well looked after, I think it’s just that we come from very different homes. His mother never worked until the youngest child was 10. When I bring it up, he tells me I should do things the way his mother did, which makes me really resentful. Any tips to resolve this?
10:00 My husband used to be super caring. Recently he has been much more abrupt and involved in his own world. There have been no major changes in his life. I really used to appreciate his care and concern for me. Any tips on how to get my old hubby back?
19:50 I find it hard to take my husband seriously. Often, he’ll request things, but I don’t see why it’s important, so even if I do it, my thoughts are that he’s making a big deal out of nothing. (For example, unplugging things from the socket.) How do I take his requests seriously if I don’t think it’s so important?

    I wish to thank - you for making it clear, " blow- outs, emotional explosions " ( not the hairstyle) are never acceptable. They are the sign that someone has lost total control. They usually involve, in my experience, at the very least, verbal abuse. I appreciate your continued teachings. Blessings to you and Shalom Bayis to all of us lovely women❤

    I want to thank you so much. I am not sure which video of yours but one of your previous ones suggested to solve disputes by buying something small that can fix them. I did that recently by buying a magnetic to-do list and my husband was very pleased! Now he doesn't need to get upset about reminding me to do things I've forgotten. I can just see his list for me any time! Thank you!

    my husband owns his business and is gone 13 hours a day, 7 days a week. when i do go to his job, i’m asked to sit upstairs (office) alone and not disturb him. so i could be at home or at his workplace and still be alone. when he reaches home he doesn’t even hug/kiss/talk to me. i know he’s exhausted. he goes to shower then eat dinner w his movie on his phone (i don’t understand the language). till he falls asleep or asks for intimacy. it feels like i’m 24/7 alone, i don’t even like being intimate with him because it hurts but he doesn’t care even when i tell him.

    Well I’m dating someone for 3 months and they are already having temper tantrums- And I’m not at 51 years old interested in coddling a giant man baby- especially when I only see him once a week I’d rather hang out with my friends and myself instead I have zero patience for someone who’s seemingly mad at the world and then takes it out on me

    maybe its to teach her that these reactions and feelings she is having are due to her own perspective and that that perspective is flawed. like some people get mad when in trafic but i dont because there is no point. like that.

    Hi. My husband keeps having random temper tantrums as though he is a little boy. I camt be doing with this . Why does he beuabe this eay. There always somethng he is picking at me for. Everything is a problem to him with me. We go away for a trip away from things and he spoils it by being mouthy and trying to knock me down. I ask him to speak properly to me what is wrong with him. Also lately he is forgetting things too. Like he has said soemthing to me then few hours after he saying it again. Or he forgets things like his car key or he gets the wrong car key.. when he used to be so with it amd alert etc. He seems to show he is the one in charge. I say none of us is in chsrge as thst isnt right in a marriage

    But it's happening subconsciously. When I do let go of control I become to submissive. How do you find that middle ground? I don't want to lose him.

    • @LadiesTalkShow
      @LadiesTalkShow 3 місяці тому

      Often when a wife relinquishes control to her husband, she gets a lot of it back naturally because he's not fighting to hold onto it anymore. And generally speaking, most husbands don't want to be in control of everything anyways, so a beautiful balance is created! Please feel free to email theladiestalkshow@gmail.com if you'd like to discuss this idea more in depth. Thanks for stopping by <3

    Strangest thing. My ex had a temper- and would end up doing stupid things that would hurt us- eventually I left and I watched his new wife (which was also an ex) “coddle” him (like you said) almost immediately after I left. I always noticed how she’d talk in whispers and used alot of touch in conversations but never realized how it would be used in relationships with a man with a temper. (Btw her touchy/whispering made me extremely uncomfortable around her during our marriage). She used words of endearment throughout everything also. Of course I was less touchy/feely having been traumatized over the years. Twice she “held him back”- with her hands and whispers (as he was about to attack me over some miscommunication) she handled him like some kind of wild stallion about to trample everything in sight. And he calmed down. To me it was too much. It was something about the “control” she had over him or that he welcomed this “attention” in order to be a decent man. It was so confusing. I once felt our marriage could have been saved- if not for his temper tantrums- but this “need” he found in another woman. It looked incredibly co-dependent (or manipulative) from the outside. But maybe that’s what he “needed” (a good mothering). It seems to work for her, for now. I don’t think I could do that. I felt he could be a decent man on his own- tame the temper if he knew the damage it caused- but it never mattered. 😢

    • @LadiesTalkShow
      @LadiesTalkShow 7 місяців тому

      It seems like you've been through a lot. A serious temper is no simple thing, and the situation mentioned in the video is a unique scenario. The point was to prove that there is usually something that can be done to improve one's circumstances in some way. However, if you'd like to discuss your situation in greater detail, please feel free to email us at theladiestalkshow@gmail.com. Thanks for watching :)
