Recorded during our green laning trip to the Yorkshire Dales back in June this was a great byway descending down to Scar House Reservoir and across the dam. A cracking drive with spectacular views.

We drove a few interesting fords during our recent green laning trip on the North Yorkshire Moors, all were fast flowing but relatively shallow. We drove over 100 miles exploring the moors using pre-written & checked routes driving some fantastic lanes with spectacular scenery along the way.

Gatescarth Pass is a challenging rocky byway in the Lake District consisting of steep climbs and tight hairpin bends reaching an altitude of almost 2000 feet. 4x4 access to Gatescarth is restricted and by permit only and we were lucky enough to get our for the June 2024 Permit Day. This route takes us from Yeovil to Mere Common, approx 55 miles on various terrain through Somerset and into Wiltshire.

This is a green lane which was new to us, spotted whilst checking a route on TW2 (TWUID SU7221-04). It's a short Byway but well worth driving, quite overgrown at either end whilst clear in the middle, sunken section. Just watch out for the low brick wall in the under growth on the offside as you exit this lane!

This was a 65 mile route green laning south of Basingstoke finishing near Petersfield including Water Lane which has recently reopened after a seasonal closure.

Follow a Land Rover Defender green laning in Dorset covering a 65 mile route across the county on a number of scenic byways and some great water crossings. Driven in October 2022 we avoided some of the more sensitive green lanes which have a voluntary restraint to avoid driving in wet weather.

This route takes us green laning in an area of Gloucestershire that we've not laned before around the north of the Cotswold's and we weren't disappointed! Starting in Stow-on-the-Wold we travelling on a number of UCR's and just one byway. We couldn’t resist a stop at the Hook Norton Brewery en route to pick up some Cotswold ale to take home!

Our last green laning trip around Berkshire this year before the seasonal closures come in on 1st October through to 31st March. Watch 2 Land Rover Defenders & 2 Suzuki Jimnys driving a variety of green lanes and byways, all of which are still very dry, even the fords have dried up!

Follow Land Rover Defenders green laning on byways around Meon Valley on a 60 mile route which takes in a variety of terrain including a decent water crossing. Driven in September 2022.

A 50 mile route around the green lanes of Bedfordshire, up to Grafton Water in Cambridgeshire and back onto the Bedfordshire green lanes via Santa Pod raceway. These lanes are closed during the winter months with seasonal TRO’s.

We travelled back down to Devon to drive a new 60 mile long route consisting of green lanes that we’ve not driven before as well as some that we last drove a couple of years ago! Most of the byways & green lanes are around Honiton with the route finishing at Axminster, all can be found on TW2 and the local PROW map.
