My Work history began here at Talair 😊
Good old memories...😢😢❤❤
Thanks for sharing the Aviation History of an Airline ( TALAIR ) that reached out to the remote airstrip touching the lives of the rural population. The government services and rural-based economic activities were very well sustained. However, the million-dollar question is, why could we not see Talair again in the rural areas of Papua New Guinea?
Tremendo piloto para despegar y aterrizar en esa pista inadecuada
Those were the good old days. The Pkt of rice back then was K1/$0.20 cents. Now, in the 20th century, go to the store & see, you will shit yourself. Why couldn't the PNG government maintain that era? What happened? How come it turned out bad now? At one time, the PNG KINA was better than the Australian dollar. So where did it go wrong? 😊
The last time I saw Dominie ZK-AKY (now 81 years old) was in Motueka on 16-2-88. Mum, Dad, my wife, one small daughter (her first ride in an aeroplane), my son and Peter Rowley and I went for a circuit around Motueka in the old girl. Unfortunately I can't recall the pilot's name. Beautiful aircraft.
Reminds me of the 70's in Kaitaia
A wonderful collection
Really enjoyed that . Thanks
Beautiful ❤
That is my true Country PNG that century 😍🇵🇬❤😢 forever miss that time
It was certainly a period of life and adventure that most of us enjoyed and we see a lot of that on “I used to live in PNG “ 😊
Great
Love the Anson. Thanks
Great video 😊
That’s one very flash new airport and international status - just awesome 👍
The views in Chimbu are amazing. Thank you for uploading
Can someone clearly advise why Talair left PNG. What a great loss to the nation PNG.
Heart moving and fond memories of a pioneer aviation entity that touched and served the people of Papua New Guinea to its core from the heart. To all those daring pilot friends who would arise at early dawn to race to see who would be the first to break the silence of the day, fly home at sunset, be recalled or diverted for a Medivac, I can only say, " tenk yu tru olgeta long hatwok bilong yu, yu givim long ol pipol bilong Papua New Guinea. To the many national and expatriate ground staff in various divisions of TALAIR, tenk yu tru ol Wantok na ol poro. For those who have lived their lives, tenk yu tru in silence. I served as ground staff and station manager in Lae, Mendi, Goroka, Popondetta, Rabaul, Madang, Gurney-Alotau, Wewak, Vanimo, Mount Hagen and to countless out station ports through out PNG. Tenk Yu Tru TALAIR, You were a True Servant Warrior and Pioneer Aviation Hero of Papua New Guinea. Marco O Paul (Served 1979 - 1984)
A two seat version could sell some high dollar tickets!
Surprised to see a Air Tractor operating in that enviornment!!
Nicely put together

Loved it, brought back memories of my many years in P.N.G (60s-to late 80s). Missionary, NO. Mercenary NO. Misfit YES, &Loved it.
We all loved our time there didn’t we so just had to put the vids together for us to enjoy 😊
Congratulations Wally. Mr Flying Adventure. Aim for a 1000 more hours in faithful MAL.
Steve you gotta get into this fun zone too 😁👍
These video's by you flyboi are fascinating and a real trip down memory lane for us as well. are you Graham Henry, ex Mendi 1972 ish ?
Mendi 74. Glad you like them. Wally Pendray 👋
I have helped load up an ag cat all day. It's hard work and the flying is dangerous but it's necessary.
It's not necessary - the farmer wants to increase production by applying fertilizer. He could just accept a lower yield.

Great crop-dusting Aircraft.
When PNG kina was 0.4 difference to USD in 1993. Great content, Talair was in great debts due to many accidents during it's operation.
Great shots. Thanks for the video
I was there. A great weekend.
Nice video. Should have joined us on the beach :D
Nice ending to the Black Sands weekend so glad you got your landing there D 🤪👍
Love the runway
All good stuff when conditions suitable 🤪👍
Thanks for the memories, l had some good friends who worked for TAL,& TALAIR.
Brings back good memories. Thanks for the upload. 👍
Great aviation photos. Seems Mendi was a hub of sorts in the 70’s?
Should have been filmed on some kind of mechanical camera contraption.
Ol mangi PNG bilong TalAir - thank you guys, good memories.👍👍
