I'm kinda surprised to see the laser get projected through the portal
If I were to guess, either the code was somewhat reused for the rocket turret line so it was made to work with it, or it's just an object projected using line of sight, which would go through the portal here
Well since you can shoot yourself through a portal than it follows that a simple raycast for the RPG sprite will work through portals. iirc Valve was experimenting with Portal being more combat heavy at some point so it's not hard to imagine they got projectiles fired from the player to work through portals since it works already from the turrets.
