Why spread all kinds of nonsense? Does Trump want to win the election on the votes in votes the southern states? ,,It's not them, it's us who won the civil war" (Rex Stout,American writer).
All of my ancestors came to the States after the war minus my great grandmother, who was in Kansas with the Pawnee Native American tribe. My mother’s family settled close to Dallas, TX, whereas my father’s family settled close to New York City. So I usually don’t take a side concerning the war.
So, unlike so many who try to defend that flag, it isn't the flag of the south that represents southern culture, or heritage, or anything else other than a flag conceived for the sole purpose of waging war to retain slave holding rights in the south.
I have done this reenactment 3 times, We came up from San Antonio to do this one. Take care Tom and God bless you and yours ✝️ 🙏
Very cool! Great video 👍

I am very proud to say that I have family that far on both sides and I proudly fly both my American and confederate flags. Heck, I wish I had more flag poles!
Great video. Informative and concise. Thank you!
Fantastic work on this. Running into the gentleman that you interviewed was a God wink. It's the story that needs to be told.

@@historydelights2582 you are very welcome my friend.🙏🏻🙏🏻
Tom, this video made me smile. A much simpler time. Beautiful phonograph player. God Bless the great state of Ioway! 🙏🇺🇸 Cheers, Dubya
Thank you for your fine presentation of the historic versions of the official flag of the CSA; it is much appreciated! One thing I might add is the that white banner with the Wm. Porcher Miles-designed Army of Northern Virginia battle flag canton was called "the stainless banner". As you point out, because it was easy to mistake it for a flag of truce or surrender when winds were calm, the blood-stained banner was introduced to remedy that.
a bunch of farbs, wouldnt take advice from them
Army of the Potomac, later renamed the Army of Northern Virginia, used the Square, Southern Cross Battle Flags from November 1861 till the end of the war. The rectangular, Southern Battle flags were used by most units of the Army of Tennessee, late in the war, like 1863 till the end. Many other flags were used by various units in other Confederate Armies. Hardee Corps, blue flags with white circles in the middle, as part of the Army of Tennessee throughout the war. Red flag with stars and a crescent moon used by the Army of the West. And different designs used flags with X, or +, crosses........ Thanks for the History.
I know you meant 'lest' in the video description...observation not a criticism,,..TY from Denmark, for the upload,
Thanks for catching that and letting me know. It's been corrected. Nice to hear from Denmark!
Awesome! Great video 👍
Well, thanks very much for sharing this channel. And I look forward to watching more. I love history, really I love facts, but even though history is only partially fact I enjoy it. I remember those who've given all & done things they didn't want to. No matter what side, county, heritage or affiliation... remembering is what's important! Thanks again my friend! 🇺🇲❤️🏴⚔️👍🏻
An excellent read Tom! I very much enjoyed it. Amazing and tragic what these boys and men went through. Thanks, Dubya
Those guys probably casually say the Nword
Maybe but not the hard r
Just because I portray Union doesn’t mean I won’t got to bat for the honest southern soldier who was merely defending his home from what he saw was a foreign enemy invading country. I wouldn’t be surprised if I had ancestors who fought for the CSA, I come from WV so I probably had people fight on both sides
So wonderful to hear the history of our nation from those who lived it. Great video 👍
I look at this recount of history as a great remimder of how terrible war is. When we look at the world today and see the power struggles and greed of the "elites " it is the common man who suffers and it's been that way all through history. The 2 soldiers in the beginning of the story had it right, Christ is the only answer!
Another excellent read Tom. Life was indeed much harder back then. Death was a constant companion. A wonderful history of your Great Great Grandfather’s regiment. 👍
Excellent stuff! Great video Tom 👍
Very cool
An excellent read Tom. Amazing history. Dueling Generals? Oh if we could only get today’s politicians to try that! 👍🤣🤣
That is a beautiful spot. I have stood right there. Love that rock! And the view across the river is really nice! Thanks for posting Tom! God bless Iowa! Cheers, Dubya
Another wonderful installment. Great video 👍
