    Is the schecter neck a little thick compared to the other guitars? Is it comfortable to play and for the thumb?

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 Місяць тому

      Hello dude, I have always felt it comfortable, but I don't feel any differences with my others Ibanez 7 strings. I set it to 1.6mm height first and 2mm last string and it is enough for riffing and soloing, and didn't perceive an extra effort for my thumb.

    would u recommend kx700 mutility for modern metal?

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 4 місяці тому

      I tested it with larger gauge strings than the originals and it sounds great for heavy riffing. The Fishman are also very versatile, but if I have to recommend a Cort for Modern metal, the X500 Menace (which Seymour Duncan Sentient /Nazgul brings) or the KX700 Evertune are better options.

    I love my Duality! It has all the specs I want. I've yet to find a better pair than a JB/Jazz. Dig the playing! I hope I don't offend by saying so, but damn this sounds like it could be one of my jams. Similar taste in guitars and musical style.

      Thanks bud by your comment, Duality is pretty astounding & I want to affirm your comment, the JB/Jazz pair sounds a little "Steely", if we can use that image to represent them against the Fishmans that sounds (for me) more organic. The bad is the audio compression that UA-cam gives to the Videos, we cannot appreciate entirely the true final quality. Both guitars are really great to play, I have others high end and far pricey than them, but truly you cannot distinguish a sensible difference in terms of playing and final results ..... great for Cort to bring us these products a this level of quality with great prices. You playing is so great man!!, yes we have some similarities !!

      @@gabrielberns93 I think you're correct in that Fishmans seem to fit in a mix better and usually have more individual note clarity, but my ears tend to miss that messy and "steely" sound as you call it. I have guitars with both and prefer them for different reasons. I checked out some more of your other videos. You have some great playing chops, my friend!

    Do you like the guitar for heavy riffing?

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 9 місяців тому

      Personally I feel so comfortable doing that on this one. The transition from a common scale guitar to this fanned fret alternative is so natural, and I could say adiitionally the Fishman Modern Fluence pickups are very articulated and clear to play power/heavy riffs .

    Which is your favorite, soundwise and from a playability point of view? The Schecter seems the winner, the more dynamic and alive of the three (maybe with the Ibanez just after)! Nice playing though!

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 Рік тому

      Hello bud, thank you 🙏 !!. Agree, from my side the Schecter has the complete package with better sound due a vastly dynamic range, and a second factor that I mention as ergonomic since it's the most comfortable to play (or playability if you prefer). In my experience there is always a plus point in guitars with a floating bridge vs a fixed bridge, since the tensions in the strings feel more flexible and less rigid, which when you have them well adjusted the comfort to play is greater and less effortful.

    The Schecter Hellraiser C-7 FRS is my dream guitar and it’s going to be my first 7 string, But it’s 26.5 scale gets me a bit concerned cause i don’t like drop/down tuning. Is 26.5 scale that big of a difference compared to 25.5?

    • @ryzencorp8182
      @ryzencorp8182 Рік тому

      Not really, strings are a bit tighter but you can just use slightly light gauge strings and it feels very close. If you have small hands it might be a bit of stretch at first

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 Рік тому

      Hi mate, In my experience you could'nt have problems with the length of HellR scale with standard tunning. To compensate some tone passages o maintain flexibility I used 0,9 to 0,42 from 1st to 6th, and I changed the 0,54 to 0,59 in 7th. The rest it´s only the fine tunning of the Floyd Rose, using 3 springs with two external of them angled to the center besides the central one.

    • @theinfinityscout3289
      @theinfinityscout3289 Рік тому

      Honestly, a 26.5 scale is actually a pretty good scale length for a 7 string. I honestly don’t know why people make 7 strings with 25.5 inch scale lengths

    • @abysscreaturekatsu3443
      @abysscreaturekatsu3443 Рік тому

      @@theinfinityscout3289 I would like to think of 26.5 as the fender scale, and 25.5 the gibson scale of Extended Range Guitars. 26.5 is ideal for the B string and goes well in both standard and alternative tunings, I believe the 25.5 isn’t bad either as there are various artists like Matt Heafy whose guitars in that scale still managed to create a massive sound, Safe to say it’s a matter of preference. And yes, even a 24.75 scale 7 string exists (a Gibson custom) and its hella muddy if you compare that to 25.5

    I got the same guitar, couldn’t stay in tune….your bridge seem upgraded! Is that improve ?

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 2 роки тому

      Hi mate, I sold it, but no problem with tuning during the use (the original that come with the guitar). The Floyd Rose generally is a pain, but mine topics to maintain it tuned: 1. Lubrication of mobile parts (saddles, string holders, springs -contacts zone-, screw posts -contact within metal parts-. 2. Springs tension, never minus than 3 of them, put two inclined and the central straight. 3. FR tuning process starts 6ta to 1st almost 8 times in that order, to found the equilibrium, then adjust the locking nut and use the fine tuners to retune in that order again. 4. Try to keep the fingerboard as straight as possible with no string buzz (if it's concave the temp and humity factors affects a lot the tension) 5. Finally the height of the bridge, all the principles of functioning of it are tension equilibrium and dinamics action-reaction over that.

    I'm looking at both of these guitars if you hand one to stay down tuned which one would you recommend. I bought the kx700 evertune that guitar plays so nice I own a Ibanez prestige and I couldn't see the extra $1000 in price.

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 2 роки тому

      Hi mate, I was looking at the kx700 evertune when I finally opted for the X500 Menace, it's obviously a great guitar to enjoy, congratulations on your buy. Like you mentioned, I have too several Ibanez prestiges & premiums (Japaneses), and several Schecter, in terms of playing comfort, good looking and quality they both are practically at the same level than these big brands, but a tremendously competitive price, Cort did an exceptional job on this. I think both would work very well with lowered tunings, although calibration is easier on the Mutility due to the type of bridge. If you can test them both in comparisson will be great to assure your adaptation and comfort to play, but you already have assured the quality and attractiveness of these guitars in my point of view.

    Hi Gabriel, thanks for putting up the video. I have a question - I'm really interested in the cort x700 mutility mostly because of the fishman modern pups but the multiscale stuff scares me (in my mid 40s so not sure if I'll get used to it) would you recommend it ? between the two you played which one do you like? Thanks beforehand

    • @gabrielberns93
      @gabrielberns93 2 роки тому

      Hi my friend, sorry by being late to comment!. Don´t worry I´m 56 and I never ever felt so comfortable with a guitar than the Mutility one. You must to let you go a couple of hours playing to adapt to the multiscale shape, and it´s almost easy & natural migration. I hold others brands in my arsenal (Fender, Ibanez prestiges, Schecter) and I´m not sufered the transition in comfort sense or technical aspects of my playing. The Fishman are so flexible not only at high gain, if not for cleans (You know, Fishman is leader in clean acoustic sounds...). The Menace 500 surprised me, versatile but depend of your kind of music. If you can go , I suggest the x700, you can experiment so much things and sounds. Cheers!
