VOICE OF THE EARTH // LYRICS:
VERSE 1
Out on the plains, where the cold winds blow
The voice of the earth, it whispers low
With endless sky, eagles and buffalo
Sa’qewi-nipukt aqq sipuk (Through ancient trees and rivers wide)
Wikim+sk aqq etam+sk (It calls out to you, it calls inside)
Situn melkiknat, jiks+tui (Listen close, my voice is strong)
VERSE 2
There’s a whisper on the breeze
Of (long) lost hope and memories
That haunts me on both sides of my dreams
Tami eymu’ti’k? tami eltayk? (Where we are and where we will go?)
Teken awti wije’mu’k (Walk the lines of each shadow)
Kaqapt+mu’kek- paqtukewa’q (Seeing all As the earth echos)
VERSE 3
Listen close, the voice of the earth
In every breeze, in every birth
It speaks of love, it speaks of truth and worth
Jiks+tu (Listen to me)
Kiju maqamikew atkitemukt+k mimajuaqn (Mother earth she cries for all life)
Wleyatult+nej aq kiknu (Lets treat each other well and our home)

I was driving when my ears has been capted by this song: suddenly the time has stopped... wow!
beautiful, and a step towards the future!
Thank you great grandmother for my heritage ❤. I may not look like my brother but I am nonetheless Tribal.
This is a very, very fine interpretation of my favourite song ever! Even if I don´t understand the language it - to me - meets the spirit! No background vocals, no selfish instrumentalists!
Stunning!⭐ 🪶⭐
Am I seeing this wrong or are you incorporating some Celtic dancing in the background. If this is true, I love how it is being woven into the fabric of your peoples stories. I too look forward to any release by Emma.
Es ist eine Freude, wenn ein neuer Song von Emma und Carter veröffentlicht wird, und ich finde es immer etwas ganz Besonderes, wenn die schöne Sprache deiner Vorfahren, deines Volkes, verwendet wird, Emma. Wela'lin. Kesatm ktapekiaqn.
This was beautiful. It was a privilege to listen to this music.

Merci...an antidote to the rise of poison in our cultures now

Deeply moving. Thank you.
Your voice is a collective voice of many, grateful for your message and wisdom, keep singing!
Absolutely beautiful! If I may, I was once told by a very wise elder woman to remove 'the' in front of earth so as not to objectify her.

Too many people appropriating the medicine in very superficial ways. Also, the medicine requires alot of resolve. It is not a comfort or a pleasant retreat. It is deliberately uncomfortable. Many want to escape but hold fast in order to overcome. But if you are unable to do so you should be allowed to exit.
i am a proud descendant of acadians and we will always stand with the mi'kmaq people and their struggles!!
The first time I heard Beyoncé sing Blackbird, my jaw hit the floor because it sounded like she took serious inspiration from your version. Sending you all the love and respect for the most beautiful version of this song that I've ever heard.

The Native American have suffered such oppression since my forefathers came to this land. I don't understand the reasoning but I do know the carnage that fear and ignorance brings to the world. yOU ARE THE FIRST AND YOU WILL BE THE LAST ...OMEGA.
There is no sin in the hearts of ANY 2 people in love.We have no control over who our hearts love. Jesus said your treasure is where your heart lies.Mine lays on my chest. There is sin in lust as in rape, child molesting, child sex trafficking, girl genital mutilations, pornography etc In Mathew 6 Jesus teaches us how to pray. He said go to your room and close the door and do it in secret as your Fathr sees in secrets.Only God knows your true heartGod is not religious or keep any holy days.Every day with the Lord is Holy.Jesus wants you to have a personal relationship with God The one. Following Jesus you will go to heaven or hell as the Church tells you Its their law. Near Death Experiences on youtube will show you.Jesus saves.Let God be yoour judge jury and executioner .Ask for a sign and one will be given. Jesus was a flower child a free spirit. God is not religious God is LOVE. iTS A GOOD VIBRATION
I just had a memory of working at camp.It was North of Ft nELSON. OOPS It was called the Helmet. The 3 weeks I worked there as a baker on night shift a bird flew in circles chirping all night long. Only the smokers commented on it. I just smoked my pipe of peace and wanted to hear this song again. I found out I was part Mic Maq by my sons DNA.I know alot about you Your beauty of spirit.Your pride of people. One were the first and your people will last.in your hearts. I would love to know you as a part of me.If I wasnt so old .lol Thank you for the memory.
