Brilliant idea and excellent presentation. It’s exactly what I been looking for to do to remove stains from my fiberglass pool from hurricane Milton a tornado that went through my pool area and dumped all my pool furniture and a metal shed into my pool while I was away on vacation and it’s done damage that I have to clean.

Ok this has to be one of the most INGENIOUS devices to help with Pool maintenance I have seen. New SUB here. congratulations. Some room for improvement 1. Make the pipe fitting that connects the pipe to the CLEAN DEVICE a 1" 1/2 threaded connection. This way it won't come off when cleaning and you can still take it apart for transport 2. Make the opening on the pipe end where you pour the Acid a Flanged end. From say 3" top 4". This will help when you pour the acid into the pipe. That fitting can be dry fit. No need to glue it so you can use it on shorter pipes. Kudos !

This has literally been the most helpful UA-cam video I have ever used. I followed you build guide to the letter and then the application process. This removed every rust stain (and there were several) from our white pebble tech in less than an hours worth of work. Used in the shallow and deep end 9’. Great video thanks!!

As others already pointed out, he didn’t have the correct part to replace the pentair check valve. I have to replace my pentair valve and wanted to check some UA-cam videos to make sure I’m doing it correctly. Note that according to the printed info that came with the pentair valve replacement, you have to follow a specific order on the screws when installing the lid. Basically add screws alternating across holes and at first tighten by hand then carefully tighten manually with a screwdriver. I also added some pool lube to the valve o ring and also wipe some on the new valve lip.

The flapper being replaced appeared to be a Pentair and the new one appeared to be a Jandy with an entirely different flapper. (Oval on the Jandy vs rectangle on the Pentair) I ask for correction if theres something I'm not seeing and will admit fault, thanks!

This happened to my ground pool lately and I spent a lot brain power and efforts trying to find a better way of removing them. Finally, I found using Sam's Chlorine powders (in a big bucket, step number 2), spread on the surface and let settled down to the stains, magically all gone. And I finally realized that it shouldn't have been so difficult, or being such a big issue. Otherwise, the whole pool industry would be in big trouble. Think about it for a moment yourself. It's like if a driver licence difficult to get will it be so popular for cars?

Their website shows they have Chlor Brite 25 lbs granular chlorine bucket, which should be the same if not better as Sam’s what I was talking about. During summer season I had pool water carefully tested by Leslie’s store, usually it’s free.

Hello, I got small pool with small light blue mosaic inside. I can get clear water in the pool but the water inside the filter gets light blue colour same as the mosaic after 8 hour filtering. PH and Clorum normal and using algicide. Can you tell me the cause. Can it be the mosaic tearing apart in dust particles? Or is there any kind of algae that has light blue colour? Thanks Jorge Dias

This holds the promise of a very clever device for removing rust stains in a concrete pool without draining it. The pads need to be replaced with a brush and a powered acid like ascorbic or oxalic acid should replace the HCL. I have a terrible situation in my pool and am inspired by this young guys idea.

Um, where are your safety googles and gloves? I found it interesting that he was able to breathe near the open container of acid. When I open a jug of muriatic acid, you can't be anywhere near it if you want to breath. I carefully manage to pour the acid but if you saw me, it looks like I'm dealing with nitro-glycerin.

I think this idea has a lot of potential but needs to be refined a little. Especially to make it safer to handle the acid. If you have ever had a sniff of muriatic acid, you know that what he's doing is very uncomfortable and dangerous to your longs, unless you can hold your breath for 5 minutes.

The video makes it look like you can replace an oval flapper with a rectangular one. You have to buy the right check valve replacement brand. The oval one he took off looks like a Pentair and the rectangular one is Zodiac. They aren't interchangeable.
