This video is for the people who are obsessed with Honda mini bikes and people who can’t ride. Once upon a time, I was obsessed too. After I’d watched every video about the monkey and the grom… every review, every rig rundown, every group ride, every burnout, mod, how-to… I just wanted to watch a video of one being ridden. This is that video. Maybe you want to see how the monkey can accelerate....
Did the PV3 make the difference to achieve 70? I have a full scorpion and high flow air cleaner but it’s now lost some top end. The question is will the pv3 help with gaining the top end. Cheers
Thanks for the video! That red wire is not important. It's only for specific applications and it will be obvious if you ever do need it.
Mine runs 160 degrees plus with the PV3 tune for my set up. Dynojet told me that the PV3 was not interpreting the signal from the sensor properly. How hot does your run?
Can you put the oem factory mapping back to the bike for some reason? , im on the verge to ger that device or a tuned ecu from dhm

Whoa! That little engine must be overheating! There's no way. If you ever take apart your engine, see if the rings and/or piston is worn out.
I absolutely will report back! I’m very very near 7k miles and aside from the mods, I’ve just put gas in it and done 3 or 4 oil changes 🤷🏻♂️ No issues to speak of
@@ricky2wheels239 I only bring it up because on forums and on some UA-cam channels everyone reports wear and tear if running the engine that hard. If you end up opening up the engine for maintenance or whatever that would be cool to know. Thanks for replying.

great video thank you!! Did the tunes come pre-loaded for the MOnkey?, and is there an auto -tune function? I want to get this or something like it. Do you think there is a better cheaper alternative?
I have not tried it yet but, dropping a tooth on the front supposedly gets you a bit more top speed. Multiple people have done it and claimed an increase in top speed. I have a 13 and a 14 tooth I want to try. But like you I prefer an accurate speedometer and don't think 70 bucks for the speedometer fixer/reprogramming thing is worth it. Thanks for the video. On the DynoJet website, they have a tuner specifically for the ‘22 Monkeys. It is $429.99 which is quite a bit. I seem to remember paying closer to $300 or $350, but this was a year or so ago.

Omg it's like going 120 in a car Lol How did you get yours to go so fast, if you don't mind sharing? I can't get mine to go what Honda even claims (56), mine has got up to 52 only :(
I made a video about the mods I’ve done; it’s pretty much just an intake (Chimera), exhaust (Yoshimura RS-3), and a tune (Power Vision). I’ve made a video about the tuner in more detail also. Basically besides that my only advice is to use all of the gears you have. I don’t usually get into 4th gear until 53 or even 54mph. Going full tuck on these little bikes can give you a few extra MPH.
@@ricky2wheels239 Yeah, I'm finally over 600 miles, 680, so I'm running up the revs more and you're right. I feel a little better about it now. I don't actually want to go 70, it's just because I'm in a rural/urban area and sometimes Trucks or people dying to get to taco bell want to run me off the rode Lol So, just for short runs it would feel better in the wind too. Thanks, I'll check out your mods. I think I'm just doing the sprocket and a Black Widow strap on exhaust. Another Monkey guy has got his to peak at 70 with just these mods he says. Agreed! What do you think is the best way of finding curvy roads? I use REVER which is great, but if you’ve got suggestions, I’m all ears.
