Back in time , mid 90‘s , a friend of mine was addicted to The Cure, only playing their music at home & in the car steady besides some Ann Clarke stuff most of the time. Me, into all kinds of electronic music, was bored out of it and sometimes i got angry asking to stop the music. So happy he never did. After some months past, i started to recognize a tune here n there, and to my surprise i heard myself asking him to play a specific tune of them. Lol, As the years went by, i accumulated their whole discography incl rarer stuff like the Entreat Version of Desintegration , B-Side tunes. I love this band, tracks like „This twilight garden“ (Wish era B-Side) and Last dance are timeless gems i always come back to. And they got so many of those. That friend putting me onto it also showed me this video back a few decades ago. And the first 3 min, that amazing vibe, this mesmerizing guitar melody, the inner beauty of all those fans on their wayy to the gathering. The first time i saw their faces, i knew that this band does something cathartic to the mind and soul of their listeners, a unspoken bond people feeling a similar pain & joy at the same time in life. The joy about the beauty of the universe and the pain about its sometimes relentlessness, kind of.

The song is great! And the band name "10000 Maniacs" sounds more like the name of a hardcore punk band, while the song title sound more fitting for the Cranberries.

Every one of those people are still Cure fans to this day ❤😊

J'étais sur un lit chambre 217 au 4ième étage en neurochirurgie a être une fois de + ou de moins, décidé a m'occuper de ce corps, au mur sur élevé il y avait cet écran, j'ai allumé cet écran et sur MTV il y avait 1 concert filmé & diffusé bien sur comme je le fais maintenant j'ai écouté durant une vingtaine de minutes en suite subitement il m a fallu 4 secondes pour enfiler des fringues 8 pour arriver a l'ascenseur 75 pour être dehors presqu'autant pour chopper 1 taxi et une vie quasi entière pour me rendre compte que c'est juste, qu'une fois c'est de trop et 10.000 X jamais assez . cela dit Cure c'était excellent et ça l'est tjrs "confession intime"

I think it's noteworthy that much of the crowd is younger. We see a lot of teens and younger adults because The Cure appealed to many - like me - who felt they were a bit of outsider, felt that they were finding out who they were inside, and felt that sometime in the music helped them connect with those answers. Fast-forward years later - like on the recent US tour, where I saw them in Atlanta - and most of the crowd is in their 40s and 50s. The kids who went to the live shows in the 80s and 90s are now the middle-aged adults who are going to their live shows in the 2020's. And the music never stopped appealing to their search for meaning.

Watching this era's scenes and sights make my heart ache and mind heavy with dark nostalgia and profound melancholy. Would it all ever return?
