I would put my cash on it that if Cue Card didn't fall in the Gold Cup he'd have won easily & whoever said he's not a Top Stayer talking nonsense. Go watch that Gold Cup & watch everything around Cue Card just before he fell, he was cruising.

Still come back to thiS! Hendo always has 1 superstar from SS he went on to Altior, Shiskin(early days) and the best may well be in training in Constitution Hil considering what he done to State Man, time will telll. Is the next one Sir Gino? Time will tell but hes very highly regarded.

I have seen some great 2 milers: Crisp, Tingle Creek, Moscow Flyer, Master Minded etc but Sprinter is, for me, the standard by which others are measured.

Great horse, but one of nico’s best rides that last one, just sent him round the bend, took ruby by surprise and you won’t catch a champion horse like that once he gets 5 lengths on you

Will always think Altior benefitted from the injuries which sidelined Douvan,Much the same as bouvre dare benefitted from the injuries which kept Faugheen out of action.But isn,t this the nature of the Sport,as the great Arkle and Flyingbolt Would both have achieved even more but for injury and Ill health respectively.

Douvan retired how lucky have we been to have watched the georgous fella. He was very gd. WILLIE has said he thinks he was probably the best horse he had. He definitely was brilliant .

Another great horse ruined by too hard a race. The other horse in that race dropped dead straight after. That tells you all you need to know

No doubt Douvan was one of the best 2 miler we all ever seem sorry for the bad injury end the story. Nothing personal Douvan is another good evidence to question about is Ruby is the best national hunt jockey cos any top jockey can win big races on Douvan not because Ruby gave him some good ride. I am no doubt about Ruby is one of the best NH jockey but not best of the best. He was lucky he connected with 2 top stables also by that time these stables got most of the best crop of horses so I believe any good, top jockey can win similar kinds of races as he did. Also remember he was the worst jockey for fell at the last. To me the best jockey should be wining races day in day out no matter is big or selling races. Also sometimes can wining races from a impossible or difficult position. Just cos his big races wining making everyone forgot this kinds of fact. So he is one of the best but not best of the best.

I was lucky enough to watch him in person at cheltenham in march 2013 beating sizing europe by a street. what happened after that is nothing short of a miracle, true blessing from nature that horse.

Went over fences a year too late. His performances over hurdles the best ever seen including Big Bucks! The King George was phenominal!!
