Like mother like daughter. Her mother the late Kafi Queen ( Malika E Qafi or Kafi) was born at Amritsar and at Hall Bazar to be precise. After the unfortunate partition of India she along with her family migrated to Lahore where she soon became famous for her command over vocal classical music and especially her strong grip over the difficult gener of classical music called “ Qafi” or “ KAFI”. Unfortunately the both mother and daughter died relatively at a younger age with renal failure. Peace be upon them. Ameen Summa Ameen.

KAFI is a style of singing in Punjabi folk singing, And her esteemed mother’s name was ZAHIDA PARVEEN. She was from Amritsar but after the unfortunate partition of the Punjab, she migrated to LAHORE, where she took her last breath.
