Acho tao fofo o sotaque dos gringos falando português. Mas admiro quem aprende a falar português porque é um idioma bem desafiador para os estrangeiros aprender.

Good advice. I am strict with myself about dabbling (avoid the trap!) but I'm allowing myself to do it with Japanese because-perversely-I have no intention of seeing it through and will just be happy with basic interactions with people. Plus (1) I am definitely going to use it, (2) the level of English is super low, so even caveman Japanese is a big enabler (it's not like going to Germany with caveman German and it essentially being pointless), and (3) the food, culture, everything that Japan entails is appealing and will be enhanced. It will make a great trip an extraordinary one. Because I have no plan to learn it indefinitely, once the trip is finished and I'm not obligated to continue learning something I'm not 100% in on, it won't become an albatross round my neck and negatively impact the languages that I truly do want to learn and are more worthy/deserving/in need of my time. If any of that little outburst makes sense.

Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.

Great video! I totally agree with you. I have been a teacher for the last 24 years and my motto has always been "los errores son nuestros mejores amigos". I love making mistakes and learning from them and my students are motivated by that. Our mistakes are the steps we need to improve. I taught Spanish in the UK for almost 20 years and for the last 4 years I have been teaching Spanish and English in a secondary school in Germany and I have to explain grammar in German, which I am not very fluent in. I am between B1/B2 and I make mistakes, but I firmly believe that my mistakes in German can be a point to inspire students because they see that I am not afraid and that the main thing is to communicate and be understood (I try to use more Spanish and English, although it is also important to use German). Thanks for your video! Excellent points and I totally agree that schools also focus a lot on grammar, constantly correcting mistakes and trying to be perfect... But don't blame the teachers, it's the school system, most of us hate it but unfortunately we have to do it...

Im a native spanish speaker from Argentina and i self taught english and portuguese by doing that, talking to people, listening music, watching videos and translating the words i dont understand. Ik im still in progress but ive been talking with people from other countries via discord and when i started doing it i noticed that i got rly better and smoothier on my writing and pronunciation. My advice is just do it, get out of your comfort zone and talk to people, its ok if you cant pronounce some words or if u get stuck and cant find the right word for the sentence, itll all come with patience and practice.
