It was a great day on the water
Yay I am in the video thanks coach Jon
Hi Jon. Just got my first boat ever (DF95). Followed your video. Worked really well. Thank you. Two things that I would tell newbees: 1. They give you extra line, so no need to worry about cutting everything to the millimeter. 2. Set the servo limits asap on the sails-in and out. I did not realize that and had to redo my final rigging after I adjusted my limits.
Thanks for the Sabot tips! -as a mom of 9894 in the B group, I'm always trying to learn! I'm so impressed how you video, coach and drive at the same time.
Thank you Jon! Would you please do a tutorial on when to Tac going to the first upwind mark?
Hallo what for battery you use The originaliteit battery of joysway lifepo because when you use a lipo yu can Burn the servo greetings
Just bought the DF95 (Sept 2024) and your video is very helpful. I haven't watched all 3 yet but I will. Something I noticed at 8:25 is adding the little plastic piece to the top keel bolt. The directions I have don't even show the part in that assembly - even though it's in the bag of parts as in your video. 😮 Without your video, I would have missed it.
Nice to have a full pond again!
This would have been a C rig. For the foiled today
I really like this video. I had my first rc-boat two weeks now and try to get it going. The main problem is that in light up wind it will not tack. It just stops and fall back. How do I fix that?
Interesting, but the first 10 minutes had nothing to with light wind tuning.
Yes. Was kinda wingin it. Interesting that the setup in the video seems to be better in a little more than light air. Ive been going better since i let booms out a couple mm and the teist more by 3-4 mm. Anyhoo, all fun.
Yeeeeewwwwww 🔥🔥🔥
Nicely trimmed and sailing well...👍
Is this a westerly at the San Diego Argonauts pond?
From Allan Gardner -Vancouver BC Canada
it was west north west which is usually breeziest direction yet swirling over trees makes for large holes. West is the best on the pond because its just that touch bit steadier than any cross pond winds
😘 'Promosm'
had a lot of fun at this race
did u guys do it this year?
Cheap cord shrinks and stretches,i use only Power Pro spectra hollow core as this is spliceable no knots, where it's too tight for room to splice a simple half hitch and a burn creates a mushroom head, the knot is clean and cannot pull out.
My sail number is 8316. C3
What voltage is the battery pack please?
Thanks for posting these videos. I always make sure to forward them to our kids and coaches that sailed the weekend.
Sabots forever
great video and narrative. Thanks Jon!
You can insert rc-receiver in small kids baloon for additional sealing
Nice work Jon, thank you
Cool
Great video. Thanks Jon!
Do you need to buy many additional tools when you buy the df95 kit?
Hi, how many tools do you need to buy on top of the df95 kit?
Looks like fun
Good wind at the end
Where did you get the brackets to mount the boat on it's side?
A friend made a few and doesn't sail em anymore. don't know a good source
Hey Jon, did you shoot the video on your cell phone or another camera?
cellphone
@@BuenoSailing thanks I am trying to figure out the easiest way to film races while racing so I can review after the race for coaching purposes.
What rig would be the right one in this conditions?
C rig, but I live in San Diego so we only own A Rigs
I’m
Looks good. Considering the diving on the downwind leg, might even have been C-rig conditions?
Another great video. I pull my sails/mast every time I sail, so I Corrosion X that mast bearing every time. I appreciate the measurements for the booms, leeches, and feet, and I’ll compare to my settings.
I have seen a tv running in corrosionX , my rx sits in a sealed bag 1/4 full of corrosionx . I run the wires through closed cell foam with twin cable ties . Never had a failure due to too much corrosionx , only none .
One question what is the Arrow you have drawn on the Deck up by your mast?
The arrow shows the direction to tighten the boom vang/kicker setting. It helps me make sure I don't turn the little dial the opposite way that I want to.
thanks for sharing Jon, it is always great to see how fast guys are tuning. super helpful to us beginners!
Why only make a large knot at the bosy vs tie a slip knot?
No need to have slip lnot because you never want that knot to come out or be undone. I make big knot and put tiny bit of superglue because i dont want lnot to pull thru hole which has happened to me a couple times
This is so awesome. SDYC is so fortunate to have you onboard.
Must have that Hull Cap sealed TIGHT.
Are there any issues with the Hull Cap leaking? Taping required? This boat doesn't require Shroud lines?
Bought a used boat. I don't have any instructions, so this is very helpful. Never did any remote control manuvering but it's great entertainment but very frustrating when things are bass ackwards. Haven't figured out what is best used for for sheet and outhaul lines.
Nice job Tommy and Preston! you too Bella and Stella!
Trey, did you see Bella Stella FJ hike mode in 13? Pretty rad.
These are great videos. See you at the Masters regatta in a couple weeks.
looking good! Go Nado!
Some beautiful footage. Where was it filmed? Thanks! Brock Holiday from Sail Wars
