I am shocked at the ignorance and denials of some settlers when faced with the truth. I feel sick reading some of these comments. I believe the Elder's and survivor's accounts of the true history of Turtle Island and the planned and executed genocide of Indigenous nations. 🧡 Allies and accomplices need to do more so that the truth will no longer be denied.

I agree with this. My father used to say that everyone should have arrived as if we were guests and live as immigrants. Learn the language, celebrate the events, protect the culture. We all should connect to the indigenous people in our area. Instead of erasing indigenous culture we need to make it stronger.

Systemic racism} meaning a universal system of racism stemming from the results of discriminatory structuring. Example; during the colonization of Canada first nations where dehumanized based solely on the color of their skin then placed in racially designated reservations and institutions, enforced and imposed by RCMP. Systemic racism includes: recurrent individual mistreatment; exclusionary or harmful institutional policies and practices; and broader societal and intergenerational injustice.
