Sand collected from local river.

it's a less common dimension of a 29gal, 36 1/4* 12 1/4* 16 1/4 inches. It's locally made by local glass cutter.

Small river pebbles. If what yoy saw on stores look lighter, ask if you can wet them. They get much darker once under water. Also, the substrate is a mix of aquasoil, lava rocks, pebbles and white sand to look like that.

the black emperors do look cool but my experience with them is similar to yours with Serpae tetras. The current 6 I have is the result of 3 purchases which were always 7+ per purchase.

yep. when the Blue emperors schooled, the otocinclus, pencifish and sometimes, the SAE join in.

When they're at the size when the males start to get blue adipose fins while the females retain the yellow/orange, plus, in person the males start to get more color. This applies to specimens from the same batch kept in the same parameters.

I had a school of corydoras, peppered and panda, in here but I never re-stocked them. had them from the end of 2020, until lately in early 2024 when the last members of the shoal passed away.

Only the ADULT MALES do, you'd be disappointed if you happen to get a school of 70% females. I got them because I thought they were Emperor tetras (Nematobrycon palmeri) but their schooling behavior made me like them and continue on buying, not for their colors. yeah, if you're looking for a similarly sized and schooling fish, dwarf neon rainbows might do better for you.

Be careful if it's a planted tank, though. For how small they are right now, they can really dig out the sand around hardscapes and plants.

I don't really know. I just bought a group of juveniles without the thought of breeding them and it just turns out there were males and females in there.

There's only 1 male adult common bristlenose in there. He would fend off other bristlenose from his cave but not violently and not very far. During feeding, the adult female Common BN would chase anything away from the food it's eating. Other than these 2 at these time, everything else is pretty chill.

I misread that at first as "large corner 250g". That's a lot of Anubias, lol.

I have a shortfin lemon. I'm not getting any longfin for now due to how my setups and stockings are. Maybe, if I will ever have a dedicated pleco tank, I'll try them by then.
