"Dama Dam Mast Kalandar - A Mesmerizing Sufi Journey | Cover by Avi"
I'm excited to share my cover of the iconic Sufi qawwali "Dama Dam Mast Qalandar." This spiritual piece is a tribute to the revered Sufi saint of Sindh, Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (1177-1274), from Sehwan Sharif. The origins of this powerful poem are shrouded in mystery, with no known recordings or written documents prior to the 1950s. However, it is believed that the original poem was penned by the 13th-century Sufi poet Amir Khusrow and later modified by Bulleh Shah in the 18th century.
