Actually, friend, I wasn't suggesting that you were drunk on alcohol, but in my own oblique way, was enjoying the association to that old song. To put it explicitly, I quite understand that any "drunkeness" you seem to display, is drunkeness on the Divine. Peace!
I wasn't offended. I was only letting you know. My mind reacts strangely when I fast for long periods of time. Euphoria comes and people think it's strange. Skipping meals then eating healthy out of the blue helps my mind significantly. It was when I thought I went boring. That was when I screwed up. You often think when your cantankerous you are reaching towards a truth. Not so. The relaxed me feeling euphoria is the truth regardless what you are doing in life or where you are.
What shall we do with the drunken sailor, what shall we do with the drunken sailor, what shall we do with the drunken sailor early in the morning?
Funnily enough I wasn't drinking. I was fasting during the ramadan/Easter period. I would love to say I was drinking. This is my mind when I fast for long periods of time.
Great to see you back with more videos

Lovely words and smile. I agree, Edward.
Trying again: We do have very different writing styles, though some "guidelines" of literary criticism seem to be generally accepted (by folks I've met in the literary world) as holding water and being broadly applicably to diverse poetic styles. The Greg Orr article I mentioned names a few. Two other books, on literary theory and prosody respectively, that I love are "Understanding Poetry," by Cleanth Brooks and Robert Penn Warren, and "The Art of the Poetic Line," by James Longenbach. The latter is a very quick read, but contains the most insightful discourse on the use and effect of line breaks that I've found. The poem I shared is not representative of all of my work, of course. I write poetry and song lyrics in a plethora of styles and voices. I love the work of Randy Newman for his mastery of the art of the persona. I do have a fb. Just sent you a friend request.
No anxiety is needed. If it can be fixed, then there is no need to worry. If it cannot be fixed, then there is no need to worry.
Ever read G.M. Hopkins or Stephen Crane? I appreciate the raw human expression in your videos. I'm still waiting (maybe in vain) for the delivery of poetry that demonstrates coherence, originality, and formal awareness. I mention Hopkins and Crane because I feel like many of their poems reside on the edge of sense, but maintain sufficient coherence to convey complex narratives and arguments via rhetorical techniques like allusion and allegory. In the Desert By Stephen Crane In the desert I saw a creature, naked, bestial, Who, squatting upon the ground, Held his heart in his hands, And ate of it. I said, “Is it good, friend?” “It is bitter-bitter,” he answered; “But I like it “Because it is bitter, “And because it is my heart.”
Your poems display talent and potential. I think you have what it takes to write great poetry, though the few sonnets of yours that I read showed much room for improvement, in my opinion.
I have read Gerard Manly Hopkins and love his work. His innovative poetry has a continual inspiration.I always think of Harry Crosby the poet. Loved by his peers and art poets. I always intended to read Stephen Crane. He is always someone I forget to read. I am so glad you brought up Gerard Manly Hopkins. Eccentric (sprung rhythm) writing that inspired E.E Cummings among others. Whether it's Lewis Carroll or Ezra Pound or Kenneth Patchen or Clarice Lispector or Jack Kerouac you have to go abstract with your thinking. My Sonnets are multilayered and have several, allegories, meanings within one line. If you specify with what you don't like about my sonnets that would be great. My sonnets have many allusions and illusions throughout the one sonnet. I have written a body of work and this seems to be out of the blue for you to contact me on UA-cam. I have a belief in constructive and destructive criticism. Constructive criticism indicates where you may be wrong and improves within the line of poetry. Destructive criticism tells me that it has potential and tells me nothing on how to improve the poem. One is specific the other vague. To have a specific word removed and replace it with another would be constructive as long as it strengthens the whole product or art you are producing. For example if I were to be constructive I would say I would listen to you more if you were a real profile on UA-cam. However I know you can be your real self with a pseudonym. At least your response was more than what I would expect after writing three hundred and forty four sonnets and free verse and a innovative book waiting to be binded together. I have written a lifetimes work. The problem is I have recorded it audiovisually. Thank you for the reference to those outstanding poets. I await your response. Thank you for your pseudonym response. I hope it displays your real self. Edward.
@@edwardag.wallace108 I just typed up and submitted a lengthy comment mentioning Dickinson and an article by Greg Orr, but it's not showing up. Did it go through?
@@LittleStoneArt No it didn't go through.
@@edwardag.wallace108 Seems like my comments aren't posting for some reason. I'll offer constructive criticism if you point me in the direction of 2 poems you've written that you consider exemplary (preferably at least one of them a sonnet). Re: pseudonyms, I'd like to quote Dickinson -- "How dreadful to be somebody / How public like a frog / To sing one's name the livelong day / To an admiring bog." Also, check out "Four Temperaments of Poetry" by Greg Orr, which can be found online as a pdf.
Marry Christmas Ed!!
Merry Christmas too.!!
I started off writing sonnets from early English writers, and I still love writing them! I am so glad to even hear the word 'sonnet' in this video. I have put several sonnets (Shakespeare, Lentini, etc). I then invented my own kind of sonnet, which my books, such as 'Return to Elizabeth', and 'The Sonnets 57-157', reveal. I did many of them, using the 'Volta' as a powerful about-face. Sometimes, what came out of my Muse was, a new form, which was to use the Volta as more of a slide into neuronal synapses, instead of using it as a punch. The punch (or true Volta, was sometimes in the first line, but the descending lines worked from point of inertia (surprise), and then brought the reader's arguments and senses to placidity and calm fortitude. I really appreciate your videos!
I like the impromptu singing
Hey Ed are you single?
I am.
I can hear you all the way here from Australia
I am in Australia. I was overseas in 2023. Do you even look at any past videos or anything I do. There is no pretence only reinvention of Self. I have shown enough vulnerability to last a lifetime. The mind games need to stop.
@edwardag.wallace108 I began seen your videos just recently and was wondering why I had not seen them before, you know the algorithms are controlled so I must have watched a video that triggered yours to populate on my strems.
Oh and I am sorry if showing interest is viewed as mind games, America is full of that stay humble and thank you for answering. Don’t allow anyone to string you along with fake profiles , I have no social media none whatsoever keep that in mind. Fraudster are everywhere please report any fraud and don’t send anyone money they did that to me and robbed me blind.
@edwardag.wallace108 I get gang stalkers all the time and is odd that today one said, “no one from Kingston is coming to help you” so it tells me they have a fake profile misleading men from all over the world , report any profile from me to the website as fake.
@@edwardag.wallace108it's clear you're in Australia, just by looking at a few of your videos. You have even mentioned some city names.
