24-hour layover in Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico (arrival by bus, restaurants, parades, cafes, massage!)
Holaaaa :)
Welcome/welcome back to my channel. In this video, we're wrapping up our Mexico trip with a 24-hour layover in G's hood, Guadalajara! Although we had big plans to walk around the city, G got sick the last day we were in Morelia so we couldn't hangggggg. Regardless.. in this vlog, I bring you along for a lowkey layover where we check out restaurants, cafes, stumble upon a dia de muertos parade, & get a massage! I hope you enjoy.

    Thank you for coming to my corner of the internet! I forgot to mention a few things in this video that might help you out if you are thinking of checking out Chapultepec during your layover in Guadalajara. This part of Gdl is ~40 min away from the international airport, ~20 min away from the bus station, and ~14 min away from the city center (el centro). There's tons of restaurants, cafes, local vendors, and a pretty big night life in this area and it's been my favorite spot to stay when we visit. In terms of the massage, we paid $800 pesos/~$40 usd for a full body massage.. & we paid $65 usd a night/$1300 pesos for our stay at hotel antre. Sad we weren't able to explore chapu like we intended to but it just means we have to go back and visit. Thank you for watching!

    Do they speak English in the city there? Do you need to speak fluent Spanish to visit Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico??

    • @shouldntmatter
      @shouldntmatter 27 днів тому

      @@geegeel7907 hi! thank you for your question! I would say it helps to know basic spanish just in case some folks don’t speak English but for the most part, we’d be approached in english and spanish. I saw plenty of Americans who didn’t speak Spanish at both of the hotels we stayed at, and definitely in the downtown areas of ixtapa and zihuatanejo. it’s not guaranteed but if you come prepared with some basic travelers spanish under your belt, you should be fine! 🙂

      hi! sorry for taking so long to respond. I've been thinking about this question and to be honest, I quit my job (and life haha) because I just wasn't happy doing what I was doing anymore. I also feel like I over identified with my career and that inevitably impacted my ability to just show up and do the work to get paid. I would also add that I'm still working through what it means to have a job that feels meaningful vs a job that fulfills all of my needs and desires. im a work in progress :) but thank you for asking and thank you for watching!

    OMG I studied abroad in India and backpacked afterward alone. It was a shitshow. I'm all for solo travel, especially as a woman, but India can be a challenging place to travel to. The driving is INSANE. We traveled on bikes and I'm still grateful that I survived the traffic. I'm so sorry about your injury and your experience. I can't believe they didn't immediately offer to refund you everything and then more. I hope you wrote a review. But yeah, when traveling, the second you get an off feeling, it's definitely time to get out.
