Find the GRASS to catch more BASS this winter
Find the grass...find the bass. This is a true statement year round, but is often overlooked during the winter months. During the winter many anglers focus their efforts on rocky main lake banks and points near the mouth of creek arms. This means large concentrations of bass in grassy areas have experienced reduced pressure and are likely more willing to bite. To increase your chances of success try to find remaining aquatic vegetation near a structure element like a creek channel swing, transition, or break. These areas provide bass with cover and security making them top notch spots during the winter. I hope ya'll learned something and I appreciate you watching the video.

TIGHTLINING - One of the deadliest winter bass fishing techniques
Переглядів 19 тис.Рік тому
In this video I discuss one of my favorite winter techniques for bass fishing...tightlining. Tightlining is an often overlooked lure selection when it comes to winter-time bass fishing. This technique is absolutely deadly on smallmouth and will generate bites when nothing else will. Come along as I put this lethal technique to action. I hope ya'll learn something new and enjoy the video. Primar...
Catch MORE Bass This WINTER

Want to catch more bass this winter? Fish the areas and baits described in the video to put more fish in the boat as the winter season approaches. With the majority of anglers focusing their efforts on other outdoor hobbies like deer hunting, you'll likely have the lake to yourself and the biggins are still biting. They won't catch themselves, so do yourself a favor and keep the dust off your f...

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video! To be honest I haven’t fished the gulp minnow much in the prespawn and into the summer. I would imagine it would work. I could see it being really good on a drop shot just because very few people throw it, plus it tastes and smells like real baitfish. I have used it in streams and creeks in the summer for smallmouth with success though.

    Is there a specific reason you went with mono?

    • @treebottomoutdoors
      @treebottomoutdoors Рік тому

      Mono or fluoro would work with this technique. I don’t think it makes a big difference in terms of visibility when your using 4-6 lb test. When braid is involved I like mono to absorb some of the strong digging smallmouth do, especially when your using a #4-#2 size hook. Thanks for watching the video!

    Those winter feeding windows can be a B****! Lmao....I was typing this as you said those winter feeding windows...too funny! I can be banging em here on Bull Shoals (Arkansas side) and then nothing for a couple hours...crazy! That tight line with a Damiki rig works great here on the bluff walls, especially picking em off with the Scope! But it has to swing, they don't want it reeled in.

      Definitely man! Fish can’t resist a little snack size shad imitation swinging in front of them. Thanks for watching the video.

    The crappie here in Arkansas have been biting that mini hair jig and mini "damiki" rig under a bobber lately. Close to evening, even in this cold those crappie start hitting right at the surface on those minnows sunning themselves. That tactic has been pretty deadly at those times. Caught a few that went 15 inches...lots of fun!

    Always thought about using the old gulps. Just don't remember if I very pulled the trigger and tried or not.. have swam a few Ned rigs though..well sorta let them swim/ride the current then drop & shake. Behind a big Ricky, cover , points. When I have yak or boat access. Little harder form the bank. But totally doable. Great video, thanks!
