2011 Mazda 3 Diesel 0-100kph/0-62mph (110kw/150HP)
Launching the car from the pit lane exit, I was a bit distracted by some cars coming down the straight and over revved a bit, but a decent run from a diesel :) Next time I'll be sure to shift up around 4200rpm.

Honda Prelude VTEC vs Porsche 911 Turbo
Переглядів 5 тис.12 років тому
I exit the pitlane just as the 911 is coming by. Ok ok ok, the 911 driver was pretty average but just goes to show and expensive metal doesn't guarantee you're going to blow away an $8k car. I had lots of fun, although it got frustrating because I couldn't get a clean lap in.

I had one like this, it made parking extremely easy, and so did winding roads! nothing scary about it!

God im in love
This thing is too cool and I thought the only car with this was the fast and furious 6 flip car but then I saw a video and then saw this of a prelude with 4 wheel steering
That's crazy and I'm a Honda fan I didn't know that it did that 🤘👍
And Renault is barking out with their new Megane RS that will have the advanced technology of 4 wheel steering XD
that is so fucking cool
that scares me
prelude dancing much?
why does this seem piss poor? it should be in the 160hp range at least for a bone stock h22a! vafc is a joke anyway!
where is the switch to activate the 4WS?
I had one like this, it made parking extremely easy, and so did winding roads! nothing scary about it! It was activated all the time, there was no switch button

for some reason that makes me uncomfortable

Thanks, I was just thinking of when it came out 20 years ago and wondering why it didn't take off. BTW you shouldn't steer when car is stationary, it's hard on tires and steering linkage.
Dude it was a demo, it's not like he always does that I'm sure.
Steering without moving is called "dry steering". It's only a problem with heavier vehicles, like large pickups and industrial vehicles, such as construction and public-safety vehicles.
@buckhunter014 4wd means that all of the wheels drive the car 4 wheel steering is wat you saw in the video. Feel free to correct me if im wrong
It is called rear wheel steering. In off road trucks & racing or monster trucks it is run by a completely diff system. It is not by steering wheel but instead activated by a switch :P
+devastatoreable this is called 4ws not 4wd
+estXcrew He was talking about 4wd not 4ws, 4wd and 4ws are 2 different things
+estXCrew Pay attention. He was referring to it correctly.
4ws is amazing, you could zip in and out of lanes at 90mph so easy - no weight being thrown around, 90 degree turns at 30mph scares the life out of on coming traffic, the old non electric systems were better (<91), it didnt catch on because amateur drivers couldnt control it. It does take getting used to, it say it took me 2yrs of driving to master the system properly. i miss my 4ws ludas every day im driving any other car. bring it back honda.
Another fad that never caught on...
It's coming back now...
I had one like this, it made parking extremely easy, and so did winding roads! nothing scary about it! Wrong, its in newer cars today!!! Watch at the 1:23 mark, hell Google it is in newer cars, your comment was 5 years ago. Automobiles have come a long way

seems like backin up is fun haha
Acura currently uses a new version of it... That's actually what lead me to looking this up
Why is this not still used??? Imagine the maneuvers you could do controlling all four wheels...
it is now lol
it is now lol
sucks that they stopped making this
idk why so many people thumbed u down. you are right about what u said when it comes to higher speeds though. at low speeds it makes sharp turns easier and faster. at high speeds the back wheels will spin in the direction of the front wheels instead of the opposite. this makes the car stable even at 30+ MPH and more effective in turning.
Wtf....
WTF ew
Many cars have passive 4ws & the owners don't know about it, such as the Mazda MX-3. As the suspension's compressed, the rear wheels turn slightly. Obviously it's not as dramatic as what's shown here, but really aids handling just the same.
Are all 1992 preludes 4ws?
who else whispered "what the fuck"
I bet that would be a nightmare to align.
lol @center660 owned!
How did the car respond after the tune? Was gas mileage better as well? the reason im asking you this us because im thinking of buying myself a vafc as well and getting it tuned, btw the numbers seemed a little low did that dyno read low?
94.1kw (128HP) stock and 100.3kw (136.4HP) at the wheels after.
what numbers did it put down i mean*
what numbers? before and after
;)
@pianofolks1 It should have a 4WS badge on the steering wheel or on the trunk hood, but the best way to find out is to check if the rear wheels move when you rotate the steering wheel.
@odvin Just intake, header, exhaust and ECU tuning.
@kasapomashero it has hi and lo settings for tuning. lo for before vtec and hi for after vtec. this only tunes WOT... below 40% throttle the ecm tunes the car itself via o2 sensors
What other model was it using 4ws, legend or something!? Id like to drive one though!
omfg thats trippy
@glock868 That was oversteer. Braked a bit too deep into the corner and the rear end wanted to come around.
at 2:10 was that understeer? and does ur car have AC? ur doing great!!
@bombardier420 LX, Si, VTEC, 4WS Si. Those are trims, but i guess you could call them "options". Options are navigation, sunroof, leather, heated seats, rear spoiler, foglights, 18in rims, etc. etc. Yea the prelude was sure built with handling in mind. The CB7 accord EDM, JDM, AUDM models also had 4WS as an actual option, not trim.
@sexyboi142. Trim level is an option, your just talkin symantics now, hahahah. That's neat tho. I figured after acertain speed they would turn the same way
@bombardier420 it was not an option, it was a trim level. At higher speeds they turn in the same direction as the front wheels
@PrimericanIdol Badly.
Why don't we make all cars like this? or Rear-wheel steering? i wonder how that would go on freeway speeds.
Bone stock H22 preludes run high 14's.
Makes parking easy ay
