I used to play this, also in d minor, with my music major friends in college. We did it thus way with the C#. Those were great memories and friendships. We'd play all sorts of improvised peices.

I woke up from a dream deciding to look for this. Took like 10min to remember what it's called im still half asleep 💀

Nice. Some hours ago something quite unexpected happened to me. It isn't serious but it disappointed me. I proceeded to channel my sadness through playing the piano at midnight (just 2 hours ago from this comment). The last piece I wanted to try was Canon in D but I didn't feel like playing happily, so I harmonized it to the minor key on the go. Now here I am, 2 am, no will to sleep, and found this arrangement. I guess I can say no other thing than "thank you". Indeed Canon in D minor feels tragic, and some parts of the melody feel like a painful but also soft fall to the abyss. Beautiful rework.

Canon was originally written in the key of D minor. But it was banned because it was too depressing. It was later changed to D major and then circulated

When you realize when you listen to On My Way - Alan walker, the interlude part after the chorus was based on Canon in D minor instead of D major.
