Toy Story 2 - Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue - OST (Remastered)
Hello!
I've remastered the original soundtrack for Traveller's Tales game: Toy Story 2 - Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue for Windows 95/98/ME, alongside the PS1, N64 and Sega Dreamcast versions released back on November 30th, 1999.
The music in this game is still amazing to this day, but I felt like the soundtrack could be modernized a bit by cleaning it up a little. It's now a lot clearer and louder, with dynamics processing, EQ, compression & more.

1:47:27 I just heard this song in an N64 music mix and searching for it ended up finding this remaster. This one really caught my ear, sounds like something from Final Fantasy XI. I wonder if the composers were inspired by this soundtrack. Thanks for sharing your great remaster of this OST!

this is very nice to see as one of my favorite soundtracks, however i gotta wonder if it would've been better to use the dreamcast version's music, as it is in 44.1kHz, slightly above the PS1, though I also have to wonder if they are _actually_ 44.1kHz or they simply resampled the PS1 tracks to 44.1kHz...
It's been a while since I completed this remaster project, but listening to them side by side and looking at the waveforms for different tracks through Spek at the time, I didn't seem to hear much of a difference. UA-cam compresses the audio regardless. I still have the mastering chain so I could technically just run the Dreamcast tracks through it again.

There's so many good compositions in this soundtrack, goes to show how much they cared about having music perfectly suited for each enviroment.
One of the best games and soundtracks ever!!! Really challenging game later on too. I love Goemon!

This game was such a good part of my childhood, and now I can listen to the OST in HD. Man, as long as Disney's milking the Toy Story franchise, can we get a remaster/remake of the original game?

Traveler's Tales has made some banger OSTs, this being no exception. seeing how amazing this remaster is, I'd love to see some of their other games from this era get the same treatment, such as Bug's Life or Muppet Race Mania. thanks for making this.

Man... This brings back so many good memories of my childhood going over to my grandparents to play this game on their Windows 98. One of my favorite games ever and a great soundtrack.
Awesome job man also thanks a lot for adding the full part at 2:28:10 everyone forgets to add the part when it changes to day and it adds so much to the cheerful tone of the music
The day/night transitions was a HUGE achievement for a N64 game at the time, must've been hell for the programmers to code. Adds so much to the vibe of the game as well. Glad you enjoyed my mix! 😄❤

Uhh they don't sound any different to me.
It's not a remix, so I wouldn't expect the songs to sound "different" per se. I simply remastered them up to modern standards (clearer sounding, more dynamic, more of the percussion/low-end coming through, etc).
@@bungeetaco ok! And after listening to it with headphones, i believe i was finally able to notice the clearer sounds! Sorry my friend! It's really hard to tell without headphones haha!

This is super well done. Excellent work! Makes me want to listen to this while its pouring rain.
Beautiful, i love the new more saturated vibe that makes torvus feel wetter and more fully grown. Sometimes instruments feel a little... Odd? The kick drum feels noo on the nose and the reverb it has sounds just not good to me, it doesnt mix into the song well. I like this a lot though.
Thanks! I'm still working on improving my mixing skills and whatnot so I know where you're coming from. The original song has a lot of delay on the percussions, which I wasn't able to replicate in a way I liked, so I didn't play around too much with them. I'll definitely keep these things in mind on my next project. Thank you again for taking the time to listen and provide feedback :)
