The Ruins and Fountain Pond in Tower Grove Park, St Louis
Переглядів 3634 роки тому
The faux (i.e. fake, false) ruins and fountain pond were created by Tower Grove Park founder, Henry Shaw, in 1872-73. Both are the landscape center of the park and constructed from the remains of the old Lindell Hotel (1863-1867) located at Sixth Street and Washington Avenue. The hotel was destroyed by a fire only a few years after opening. Some of the limestone blocks were taken to land Henry ...

Excellent video, huge fan of Bingham of course from STL. I’ve never known MO moto, would like to see a return of those ideals and the everyday joy of the common laborer
Love this park
Beautiful video! Thanks for making it
Great video
This was very well done! Great video.
Thanks for this video! We found it to show my 2 year old the wild lights so she knows what to expect, now she asks to watch it each night before bed!
Lovely and passionate Scientist
Love this guy
Love this guy.
I have his book on Pluto and read the appendix. I spotted an error and e-mailed him. Got a response back that I still have saved in my e-mails.
that’s so cool
If you're going to do a presentation on a scientist. Especially an astrophysicist, you sound get the heavenly bodies correct. 1 example being the dwarf planets frame you used that only included Pluto. There are at least 10 others that should have been there. An observation. Fixing these things can help you in the future of your productions.
Really interesting. Thank you for the time it took to put this together!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for sharing the story! I love this tiny piece of history in my neighborhood!
Overall yes let me tell you I spent a lot of time there was one of the first people to skateboard there in like 86 in fact I skateboarded there before the plaza was built and have photography to approve it in fact one thing they leave out of this video is that you do for a time in the 80s this was simply a parking lot it's not very interesting I know but there was a time when at least where the steps were was just a flat parking lot that's where we parked to go visit St Louis Center grand opening
Cool looking town 😁
That stone wall was called the bear pits
Looks awesome in the fall 😎
Who else got this for their assignment
Tyson is a source of alternate facts. He should not be used as an educational resource.
i did
Me
me
I did
It is a stretch to call Tyson a scientist. He has hardly done any research since his forgettable dissertation in the 90s. His thing has been flashy pop science and his material is often inaccurate.
Proof? Evidence?
@@nughson9868 Not commenting on his research abilities or accomplishments, but look up his “The Golden Age of Islam” videos. Contains many inaccuracies.
as a kid i fell in the pond it was sad i had to take 5 baths/showers it is funny tho because the kids in the video are doing what i did right before i fell in playing with a stick in the pond
Thanks so much for your awesome videos! If you’ve seen an uptick in views on your zoo and aquarium videos it’s because my two year old is obsessed with them! We were so excited to see this new one this morning. Thanks again!
That is awesome knowing I have such a young fan base! Look for my video covering the holiday lights at the zoo known as Wild Lights. I filmed it on New Year's Eve and will upload it soon.
Thanks for the fun!
You bet! I enjoyed making the video.
The old Kienker Plaza was so much better. The renovation was a waste of taxpayer money
It had many many places to hide and the homeless I guess kind of took it over; not to mention us skateboarders waxed and grinded the heck out of every surface.. that didn't make it look any better, the Occupy Wall Street movement there, they had Tea party rallies there, ... The new Plaza is very sterile and boring but you'll notice it's a lot less places to hide and sleep and go to the bathroom and stuff like that
Hey! Cool to see our team's CG river & waterfall in the Grand Lobby in your video thanks! We created that for DE-ZYN Studios & the St Louis Aquarium.
