Hello Sir I'm Marilyn cochesa from Philippines
Sorry to disagree but, in fact, there are plenty of red sapphires. I own a 6-strand necklace myself. (A real bargain, and pretty). The difference with rubies is that they also contain chromium, which red corundum doesn’t. (And the price 😀) The same applies to emeralds. They contain chromium. If they did not, they would simply be called green beryls (Oh no!) Love you both dearly. Own both of your great jewelry, and have given as gifts to my daughters and granddaughters as well. You’re the best!❤👍🏻👏🏻🏆💝
hi bro i sell almandine garnets give me whassap mamber

We find this green stone in the creeks in Queensland Australia, not far from were its mined now owned by the chines ,also we find UV active florescent gem stones as you seen in my thumb nail that one has strange green gem in it as well possibly sodalite ,larva rock flows into the creek here and its full of strange rocks ,
HI Paul, I realise this is an old video but my interest is in the fact that you are an expert by all accounts saying that ametrine is a mixture of purple amethyst and citrine (and so do a lot of the crystal and gemstone sites), however, I was conducting my own research and found a geology site (Mindat) that says that it is not the citrine that causes the yellow colour (and that its not citrine) but rather the yellow part of ametrine is related to iron.. and it woudl be called ferrugous quartz. Apparently they tested the ametrine and applied heat, either way - citrine loses its colour when heat is applied and they say that with ametrine - the purple loses its colour but the yellow remains unaffected by heat. Still leads me to the question.. can ametrine be made synthetically?
Don't forget, 'Jade' is a virtually meaningless term in both gemology and the jewelry trade, ...but alas, one with marketing appeal. Labeling two entirely different stones as jade is no better than labeling ten different stones. One still needs to use additional words to explain which stone is being referred to. Jade by itself tells us nothing. Since we need to distinguish between Nephrite (a rock), and Jadeite (a mineral) (unless you prefer Jadeitite, or Fei Cui?) why not also distinguish between Australian jade (chrysopase chalcedony), Indian Jade (green aventurine chalcedony), African jade (several options...), California Jade (some, but not all vesuvianite), etc... Afterall, that's what we do with the equally meaningless term, 'Jasper', which now names hundreds of different rocks that contain widely varying amounts of opaque microcrystaline quartz ( the supposed 'true' definition of jasper). The word 'Jade' was originally a medieval Spanish word (piedra de ijada) used by folk medics for any smooth stone with supposed healing powers. The fact that we now apply it to two different specific rocks and minerals, but not others, is almost completely arbitrary....

How can you tell if your zaltinite is fake?
I'm from Ethiopia who work like gemstone business ,If you want to work with me say hii
I bought a bead bracelet, which looks very nice, but afterwards I read it is somehow toxic due to copper and traces of arsenate. Is it safe to wear on bare skin? The vendor said, the stones came from Africa. The price was 30€. I sometimes play with such bracelets unintentionally and am afraid to touch it with sweaty fingers and afterwards eating something or touch my mouth otherwise...
I have a massive alamandine ruby Adelaide ruby I would love to send you a picture to get your feed back sir. Sincerely Garry
I have a large alexandrite, 5-7 carats, that I need to sell. I inherited it from an Uncle. It has total color change. I need to know the process of selling a stone of this quality and rarity.
I've recently seen a big collection of this stone, polished and made into jewellery. It requires a fairly large amount of money for each item.
This was great. Thank you. I have a question I hope you might be able to help me with. I have a green grossular faceted stone and there is a scratch on the side of the pavilion. Is there a way I can minimize this scratch? I have cerium oxide, also Zam. Can a scratch be manually softened? I do not have the ability to correct this with equipment.
thank you ❤

have you ever done a video on Hauyne such as the blue Hauyne from Germany which I understand is kinda rare
I am surprised when people mention where almandine is found but fail to mention Austria..in fact if you look up Garnet Gate Lake in Millstatter See in Carinthia you will find a mountain that is just so full of garnet that it is actually hundreds of thousands of them in the rocks and even pathways walking to the Garnet Gate at the top of the mountain...literally TONS of garnets were used in the making of the pillars for the gate itself..it was mined at the foot of the mountain and made into the famous Bohemian Garnet..you should have a look at this and if ever in Austria IMO it is a MUST see and you can easily find garnets everywhere on the ground surface. Amazing place but people always fail to mention it. If you like garnets this is a must visit IMO.
Hai sir I am Sri Lanka sir I have blue sapphire gem stones 38 ct 68 ct and 102 ct gems Royal blue sapphire I need buyers so plz help

I have a pair of prerry big iolith earings, but they are made out of very thin slabs of iolith. So eventhough the surface is very wide, the light goes trough shining blue and the color does appear very well. The common iolith color is more pastel and ashy compared to shiny tanzanite examples
thank you for sharing information on rare stones

I'm currently a GIA distance student from Nashville. I have completed by diamond graduate requirements & embarking on colored stone requirements. I'm very interested in finding out more about how ametrine are being faked or lab grown. Do you have any suggestions on how to find what country or lab companies are conducting these synthetics that are often sold as natural? I would appreciate any knowledge you have on this specific subject.
It would be great if you had an attachment of the charts so we could download it. Excellent presentation. Thank you.
excellent informative video
It can also be found here in Hawaii.
Nice only garnets ive come across are regular ones and the odd orange garnet. Biggest ive pulled is somewhere between a half quarter inch and a Most perfect clarity. Describing it doesnt do it justice
Diaspore was discovered in Russia in 1801. The mine owner in Turkey trademarked the name zultanite and then later changed the name to csarite in an attempt to make the gems minded in Turkey more valuable.

Dang it. I live in Albuquerque and got excited about the school. It's actually in Socorro which would be to long of a drive for school. You have inspired me tho. I'm going to look around, I want to go back to school 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Lol. You answered the question at the beginning of the video. The Tuscan Gem Show would be the best place to get any stone. I'm saving my nickels and heading to Tuscan for the first time next February. Have a wonderful birthday at the show 🕊️🕊️🕊️
I buy silver lots and about 50% of what I get has marcasite. I was wondering why I get so much and if it's just out of style right now. Thanks for the tip on looking for square cuts 🕊️🕊️🕊️
