Lovely music, Elizabethan Serenade by Ronald Binge x
I live in Kirkby
What a machine love. It
You don’t see things like this now o days it’s a shame, well at least I haven’t anyway
Well everybody’s getting into it except one
Do other costumes include a small pinney?
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hi 😁 I wonder if you could let me have a copy of this video via email? It’s got my dad and his friend in singing there heads off! We lost dad at Christmas so we’d love to have this footage, thanks Jo xx
I will have it just might take a little finding. I can see who you mean and he brightened up the event for everyone there that afternoon really helping the friendly fun atmosphere. I's a shame I was using new (to me) camera and got audio wrong at the start, compounded by it being a bit windy. It will be too big to email I can post you a download link here later.
I could not find the full video uploaded, but did find the original clip you wanted and have uploaded it. Try right click 'save link as' or if you just click link it will start to play in chrome and offer download on three dots bottom right. It is 1.3GB so will take a while to download even on faster broadband. s283972298.websitehome.co.uk/movies/singer-pickering.mp4
👍👍
I'm going this October (2021). Just worried about the weather. I imagine it'll be freezing.
It's often warmer than the Spring event, days are getting very short and sun is weak by then though, so you have a point.
Wait so... goths and steampunks both have their own festivals in Whitby, but the steampunks will turn up at goth weekend and vice versa, then they both complain about each other invading the other's festivals? That's just kinda funny. Whitby is a fun place.
Lovely cloths a great day out x
Fun fact: Most Goths and Steampunk in Whitby actually dont like eachother but they will go to their weekends.
Great video. I went here today and up to the church to see the pirates grave
Is that a stone with Skull and Crossbones, it might just be a slightly morbid 18th century symbol of death but sometimes it's a coded reference indicating a supporter of the Knights Templar - who have a colourful history. Some were banished from their lands and became sea faring pirates that is actually where the skull and crossbones flag originates as they used it previously.
@@4-video wow thats excellent i never knew that. All very interesting either way. I made a very interesting trip to malta 2019 lots of templar there!!!
What a great vid. Nuff said. Hope all had Fun N Giggles .
We used to go there every year the War time weekend was a highlight when it first started in the 1990s it was different today its become fancy dress and far to busy Im glad I knew it from the start
Goths no twha tit was & who booked that band. It's not quite Pete Murphy isit.
Looks as if it's dieing, a few years ago this place was packed to the rafters, especially October goth weekend, the weekend cos players and pirates have done a great job in killing it..... Pushing up accommodation prices three fold...... Makes it a very expensive weekend nowadays
I think partly the overall effect was diluted by large numbers of 'normal' visitors making the most of the last fine day. Also East Side is more packed, I didn't have time to go over there this time.
Yes there is a lot of fancy dress people there and some that look at you cos you don't come up to there standards as i found out i did ask if they dress as an everyday style they said no only for events like this i replied this is me 52/7 they soon talked off , i have nothing ageist anyone doing there own thing but not look down on others that its their way of life Goth or Gothic Victorian or what ever is your bag .
Its just for fancy dress posers not the real goths.
A lot of sea men in whitby tugging around the harbour shouting for the coxswain to come to the poop deck with a force 8...got any crabs skipper?🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
@@platform823 Mad as a bag o badgers.
....thanks for posting , I'm always interested in harbours and trawlers......
I've been able to have three visits to the event and each one was really good.
I didn’t even realise you recorded me XD I must admit I look good in that 101st uniform :D great weekend!
Is the German camp there this year, they always put on a great show
No they are still afraid of being called Nazi supporters. Le Visham does have a special event of sorts , which will be less hectic than Pickering but not easy to access except on the train. www.nymr.co.uk/levisham-station-railway-in-wartime
Masses of them this year and Painted Ladies too. I have had a few Meadow blue in the garden too. marvellous to see them
shockingly bad and inapropiate backing music!
You could mute it and put Vera Lynn on your gramophone, I don't like 40s music
I love regatta
Hoping to get down for this again tomorrow 12th
Ove
I love regatta to
@@4-video how long is it normally no for
@@owendytor3617 It's really just that one weekend when they have the fireworks to close regatta weekend.
Just seen the tv programme, on the wartime weekend, all I can say is shame on you NYMR there were a lot of people who put a lot of effort into your event at levisham, people had a choice to get off the train, and many did, you will pay the price of this with your lilly livered excuses I am totally ashamed that I donated my time and money into this, to be stabbed in the back
I first attended in the 1990s and it was super Today its become to Large and it annoyed me when I see folk turned out in uniform which is historically wrong so I don't go now Its a fancy dress now its become very PC Germans no longer at Le Visham what's that about who did it harm most who fought in world war two are no longer with us
It's just a bit of fun. You can't expect people to absolutely accurate with uniforms. WW2 uniforms are rare. If you do manage to find one it'll cost you a fortune. You need to lighten up a little.
It was amazing but soooooo cold. Love the video x
Whitby such a beautiful place just love that seaside town always make me feel happy 👍
Pickering used to be packed solid!
Shame the PC killjoys stopped the Nazi occupation of Le Visham as it is a timely reminder of what might have been. Nontheless, a very enjoyable and fun weekend.
Great Video, and nice quality, Did anyone record the car parade ? We were at the front and was held back half way due to people not keeping up with the "Policemen" who were keeping the pace, so because of this, it was reduced to only one circuit instead of two. A Shame, because we were there at 9am hanging around in the rain for two hours for the parade to start. Let's hope the culprits responsible for this we be identified and contacted by NYMR. Lots of good entertainment and good atmosphere despite the weather. Lets hope we can see Levisham become Le Visham once again, although the Station looked good, I'ts lost the appeal it used to have.
we were Land girsl on day, then in civvies , then in un iform for the train trip to Whitby..well worth it
spotted our group outside the museum..fab weekend, loved all the people there...fab video
