A number of years ago, the fanfare band was proclaimed immaterial heritage in the Netherlands as well as Flanders, Belgium. This living and dynamic form of heritage is passed on from generation to generation, although it does change over time. You could say that music - in this case the fanfare band - is the link between the past, the present and the future. This beautiful notion was the composer’s source of inspiration to write Living Heritage.

This piece is a masterpiece in orchestration, the sounds of the flugal horns mixed with soprano saxs and lower brass, the suspensions just added to the fantastic glorious ending. This piece as now opened my ears to what Dutch fanfare bands can do. A brass band is a snooker table with just red balls this as the full set. Bravo Mr Doss you are a genius.
