This is one of the best comedies of the 70’s. Even though the entire name “John Wayne” is repeated approximately 5,000 times in this episode, not just “him” or “he.” 😆 Other than that, a great episode.

I saw this 50 years ago for the first time, and I could still remember some of Bea Arthur's barbs even before I watched this episode ("Love and Marriage") just now. She was a great comedic actress. It seems that Norman Lear had a talent for casting actors who could bring their role to life like no one else on Earth. Bea Arthur, Carroll O'Connor, Jean Stapleton -- I can't imagine that anyone else could have played those roles so beautifully. Thank you to whoever posted these videos.

I loved this show as a kid. It was supposed to be a liberal, feminist show. But, rewatching, it is so Man-Centered and marriage-centered. So many shows are about women needing a man to be happy. It is eye-opening and weird.

Walter is always complaining about things that are wrong in the episode of Maude's night out. Why doesn't he fix them? He is such a cry baby. And he told Maude in another episode that women are always late, but it would appear that Walter can eat his words, because he is the one that is not dressed and Maude is ready.

Mine (authentic) also has a smell inside! I don't know what's going on because none of my other products have the smell of the kislux bag. Called LV and they said it is normal and I can wipe the inside with a damp cloth. I thought the lining was suede but it's actually microfiber so I'm going to look for ways to remove the microfiber smell because the smell is keeping me from using it often.
