Effortless Peach Pie Delight: Jaggery Twist with Ready Pastry!"
Welcome back to Cooking With Mama! Today, we're bringing a unique twist to a classic dessert with our Peach Pie made with the natural sweetness of jaggery and a convenient ready-to-use pastry. This recipe is perfect for those who love a quick yet delicious treat without compromising on flavor. Join us in the kitchen as we blend the juicy goodness of peaches with the rich, caramel-like taste of jaggery, all wrapped in a flaky pastry crust. It's a dessert that's sure to impress your family and friends!
Peach Pie with Jaggery
Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 3 fresh peaches, 3-4 cups
- 1 cup of jaggery, grated
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
For the Pastry
- 1 package of ready-to-use pie crust
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, grated jaggery, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well until the peaches are evenly coated.
3. Assemble the Pie:
- Roll out one of the ready-to-use pie crusts and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan.
- Pour the peach filling into the crust, spreading it evenly.
- place the second pie crust and place it over the filling. You can create a lattice pattern or simply cover it completely and make a few slits for steam to escape.
4. Bake the Pie:
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
5. Cool and Serve:
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
