Byron Berline plays all three parts of the song "Gold Rush"
8.1.2013
Guthrie Oklahoma, The Double Stop Fiddle Shop.
The fiddle legend plays "Gold Rush," originally written in three parts.
Be sure to get a copy of Byron's new book, "Byron Berline. A Fiddler's Diary."
I will always treasure the time I spent with him. God willing, we will spend more time together again in the future.

Crazy Arms

Key C Now, blue ain't the word for the way that I feel, There's a storm brewin' in this heart of mine. This ain't no crazy dream, I know that it's real. You're someone else's love now, you're not mine! Crazy arms that seek to hold somebody new, But my burnin' heart keeps sayin' you're not mine! My troubled mind knows soon to another you'll be wed, And that's why I'm lonely all the time. Please ...

Key E I hear the train a comin' It's rolling round the bend And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when, I'm stuck in Folsom prison, and time keeps draggin' on But that train keeps a rollin' on down to San Antone.. When I was just a baby my mama told me. Son, Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns. But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die When I hear that whistle blowin...

Key D At my door the leaves are falling A cold wild wind has come Sweethearts walk by together And I still miss someone I go out on a party And look for a little fun But I find a darkened corner because I still miss someone Oh, no I never got over those blues eyes I see them every where I miss those arms that held me When all the love was there I wonder if she's sorry For leavin' what we'd begu...

What A Friend We Have In Jesus
Переглядів 17011 років тому
Key A What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged- Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so fai...

The House Of The Rising Sun

Key A minor There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new bluejeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and trunk And the only time he's satisfied Is when he's on a drunk Oh mother tell your children Not to do what I ha...
Your Cheatin' Heart

Key C Your cheatin' heart Will make you weep You'll cry and cry And try to sleep But sleep won't come The whole night through Your cheatin' heart will tell on you... When tears come down Like falling rain You'll toss around And call my name You'll walk the floor The way I do Your cheatin' heart will tell on you... Your cheatin' heart Will pine some day And crave the love You threw away The time...

Habor Lights

Key G I saw the harbor lights They only told me we were parting The same old harbor lights that once brought you to me I watched the harbor lights How could I help if tears were starting Goodbye to tender nights beside the silv'ry sea I long to hold you near and kiss you just once more But you were on the ship and I was on the shore Now I know lonely nights For all the while my heart is whisp'r...
The Old Rugged Cross

Key of A On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff'ring and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain. Refrain: So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown. Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, Ha...
Amazing Grace

Key of G minor Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares... we have already come. T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far... and ...
Could listen to you all day long.
if only they had a guitar player for accompaniment
So much respect for this -late- most great fiddler. I was blessed to join some live performances of this all time legend in American country fiddling.
Wonderful! He was one of a kind.
Awesome
back in 1980 our band backed byron in dearborn mich. great fiddler, man and sense of humor!
Bluegrass music sure is a lot sadder without the fiddle of Byron Berline
Thanks so much for posting.
Are used to go in there all the time! I miss it. Are used to jam out with him occasionally. When I was a kid and I got my first electric guitar from him. First date I had with my high school sweetheart he sold me a $250 guitar. For two bucks and told me to go have fun. I still have it today. I even have all the same guitar pedals from him. Lol I miss him a lot.
Always a good song, well composed song, it's tragic that Byron Berline passed away last year, I enjoyed all of his work and also with Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, You will be missed Byron Berline and Bill Monroe and all of the rest of the Great muscians that made bluegrass bluegrass.
This is so beautiful.
Good stuff for Harper
I got to play a tune with him once; he was very accessible and friendly.
So sad that he's passed away. What a tremendous man and musician.
Rest in peace my friend.
Truly the greatest that ever lived.
My grandmother and I attended over 50 concerts of Byron. He was such a big part of our lives and 1000s of other lives. He was a master at his craft, a kind person that would open his door and literally sit and talk and jam with you for hours. He was an outright legend and will be sorely missed
Such true words. Always had time for me.
Beautifully said. Truth.
RIP 😔🙏
What a sweet and kind and talented gentleman he was. RIP❤️
Rest in peace, sir, and thank you for the music.
Go Vols they play it at Neyland stadium
like floyds panhandle rag
Inspirational every time I hear it. What master. Thank you for posting.
How come it is called a song as if it has words. I don't hear any singing in this so called song. I would call it a tune. Before we had recorded music no one would ever consider dancing when some one was singing. It would have been considered being very rude to the singer.
Superb!
Very nice
So sad to see this shop burn this week here in guthrie. Prayers for him and his family and the family of the business next door. ❤ #guthriestrong
Colby Graves I was just thinking about this. So much history in that one building. I’m hoping that they can rebuild. It was always fun going there and seeing all of the instruments and always a joy to get to see Byron play.
Sad news to hear, let's hope things can be rebuilt and the business can restart. This is a gem of a recording, thanks for posting !
baldy go back to school
I am sorry you life is filled with hate, bitterness and anger. I am praying for you now that God will touch your heart and soul and turn you life around before it's to late.
irrelivant dobro picker
should NOT even be there-a decent guitar man is in order-give baldy the HOOK
The guy on the dobro is the reason this even got videotaped. Cut him some slack.

The high poiment in my life, right there. Yes indeed..
Byron is fantasticly smooth, clean and inventive within the tradition. I somehow just missed him in SoCal in 1996. I liked his column in Frets magazine He moved back to OK around 96.
Cool stuff..I like what I hear Dave White ..! Have a great weekend !? subscribed.. Nice if you could subscribe and comment back..I have a new channel..
I'm sure I could get it by watching, but do you have tablature? I'm new on dobro...always liked this song, seems like the pace would be okay after I learned it.
you are awesome. how do you learn to play like that. Sophie 8 years old from Guthrie Ok
