Good video Ulric, thanks. Alternative introductions like this one are very needed to grow the Elm community, and yours hit a good balance between basic and intermediate concepts in a clear way. But it also presents new comers with an antipatern and practices that are better avoided. So I have some constructive criticism for future videos or edits to this one. The way you structured the renderers has a lot of repetitive code and is quite brittle as you saw while making changes. It also allows for impossible states to be coded without compiler help. You could instead have made a generic renderer that accepts only certain types, and have the types themselves carry the payload to be rendered. Then the whole program becomes just a description of types and a case statement, making it easier to understand and eliminating impossible states. Hope this helps. Now I'm on to video 2. Cheers.
