Wolverton Mountain (Claude King cover)

I want to add a fun song to my channel, and I always liked this one. A hit song from 1962. A bit of true history - Clifton Clowers was a real person who lived on Woolverton Mountain in Arkansas. He was the uncle of the song’s co-writer, Merle Kilgore. The song title changed the mountain’s spelling to Wolverton.

John Ch. 14: [2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

One from the original, Earl Scruggs. And in advance - no, this is not exactly as Earl played it :). I like to add up the neck breaks when I can.
What a Friend We Have in Jesus (Hymn)

What a truly perfect Friend Christ is. When we are faithful to Him, He is there. When we are not faithful to Him, He is there. The kind and merciful Savior of our souls!
Ghost Riders in the Sky (Cover)

This song gave me fits to record. It’s a rainy day here and my fingers and pics are sticking to the strings like crazy due to the humidity. But, since it is raining out and nothing else pressing at the moment, thought it best to pick up the banjo and record my instrumental version of this great song. This is not as smooth as I prefer it be, but here it is in ‘all its glory’. :) First recorded b...

Another quintessential bluegrass favorite. I suppose the Dillards were the first ones to popularize it. Written by Dean Webb and Mitch Jane.

My rendition of the beloved Jimmy Martin song. Just straight up Bluegrass! Recently had the opportunity to jam with new friends in South Carolina. What a great time it was!

Sounds awesome ❤
That's awesome. That's Ralph there. Thanks.
Hey silly question, but i cant tell if you are using standard or open g minor tuning or something else. What tuning do you use for this sort of song?
@@Buckshot_Buckaroo Hi SaskFarmer. Not silly at all. It is hard to tell with minor keys-thank you for asking. I use open G major tuning. I start in the key of A-min and modulate to E-min. Especially since there were no vocals, I wanted to work in some additional interest.
@@georgemiles7697 Thanks for the speedy reply! I've listened to a few of your videos and I absolutely love your covers, I'll be learning from your videos! Thanks
