Loss by Ref Decision - Improved, but not Satisfied - BJJ - NAGA LA March 2024
Hi Viewers,
Decided to compete at NAGA again, this time at Director level (age 40-49) and Super Heavy (225-249.9lbs). Happy about going down a weight class. Started the match with some brief grip fighting. My opponent, Laerte, initially got better inside grips, so I decided to pull guard. We quickly moved to half guard where I got the lockdown, but he had a cross-face with the lapel. It was a bit of a stale-mate, where he didn't progress out of the half-guard, and my attempts at the whip-up and underhooks got smashed. Referee decision went to him for keeping me on my back and fairly well flattened. Great experience, improved from last time, but lots of room to get better.

This was my second match at NAGA's LA tournament on October 01, 2023. Although my nerves were much less than the first match, still didn't turn out my way. All I can do is get back to work.

Held up really well. I don't use them all the time, but can easily see getting many years out of them.

Hi Luis, Yes, using two of the 5' by 10' Flexi Roll mats. They have been great, wish I had bought them sooner.

They were about $250 each, plus taxes. I ordered through Amazon since I have prime and didn't have to pay shipping. Otherwise shipping is like $80

Apologies for such a delayed response, these are 1 1/4 I believe. They have worked great for at home BJJ and yoga. I wouldn't do hard judo throws on them though.
Does Dollamur sell 2" thick flexi connect mats?

How do you guys like the smooth and velcro? I want to do stand up without slipping, jujitsu without rug burns, and training without mats moving. Thank you
@@peteduarte9221 I responded on the other video you watched. In case anyone else comes on here asking the same question. The smooth mats are great, but once you sweat too much on it, they become slippery

Hi There, When I have both mats down and both my wife and I it hardly moves. It might shift if you do some solo drills, but not a whole lot. Hasn't been an issue for me. -Jeremy
