Is it safer to cover it or have it removed? A home I might buy has asbestos tile under carpet. We don’t like the carpet so want to remove it and cover it back up. It’s only in two bedrooms so we could afford to it removed professionally if it’s the safest option. The tile from what we could see before removing the carpet was in tact. Also if we just covered it with click flooring Will removing the carpet beforehand be dangerous?

If money was no concern is it safer to have a company remove it or do you potentially contaminate your whole home?

Glue Down 💯 if installed right, it will last a lifetime

If you wanna do from scratch, you can use advantec which is better than regular subfloor. We couldn’t swing whole house in wood. Done right and with stain or paint and good seal, it holds up and looks good.

Great informative video. Sometimes too much agitation can shred carpeting. I have mostly hardwood, but I have area rugs in each room. Some are delicate. I have three vacuum cleaners and each of them performs differently. My best well-rounded vacuum cleaner is my vintage Kirby. It has enough agitation to remove dirt, but it won't damage delicate material. You can also shut off the brush roll by turning the belt lifter to the 'off' position. My most powerful vacuum cleaner is a Royal all-metal upright. It has insane agitation and airflow, and it will remove deep embedded grit, but it can be too much for delicate rugs. I use it once in awhile on the rugs that aren't delicate.

What do you think of Eurolon fiber? Is it really better than plain old polypropylene? I like the feel of it, and it seems like it would hold up better than viscose/tencel.
