I've never heard the original, and this is the first time I've heard this song, but I LOVE it. I just clicked on it because I saw VNV Nation in the title, and I figured it couldn't possibly be bad if they were involved in the mixing of this. I've heard of Deine Lakaien before, but not to the extent that I knew a lot of their songs. This one's awesome!

i just skimmed the first verse and jumped to chorus just to compare the two since i hadnt heard original before. but you are right its richer harmony in original verse, and i would prefere it whilest drinking beer and chilling, but remix is better for dancing.

actually its tonica subdominant dominant, wich is 3 chords.. just as in original.

i agree. In my opinion all songs are getting much better after remixing by VNV Nation. No matter how amazing the song was before.
