The New York Central is one of my favorite railroads and the Hudson locomotive is my favorite engine of all time. This is a tribute to the NYC’s fleet of freight and passenger trains that crisscrossed the country. All clips and audio belong to their respective owners including the music.

Well here’s a modular layout running session with one of the layouts set up in Hinton Hotel where the LCCA Convention in Omaha is being held. I was able to bring two locomotives I got for Christmas last year to run from my home in Kentucky. This Engine in the video is the 1997 rendition of the Milwaukee Road F-3 Diesel. The Electro Motive Divison’s F-3 is one of Lionel’s most beloved diesel loc...

This was shot back on March 2nd of this month. The model used Lionel’s 1990s era of the Reading Company’s T-1 4-8-4. However, when the real 576 returns to steam you can be sure Lionel will make a model of the Dixie Type for O-Gauge. My friend Sam works for Lionel as their Nashville Store and Lionel has plans on making the first official model of NC&STL 576 in O-Gauge. Although Lionel would need...

I’m running trains on my little layout in the basement of my home and you might’ve noticed a bridge on track 1. Running on track 1 is Lionel’s 1997 Milwaukee Road F-3 A-B set with a mixed freight train with an assortment of cars from Lionel and Menards. There are 3 Postwar Lionel cars on this train including a Lionel Postwar log dump car. In the future I’m hoping to get a Log Loader for my log ...

Thanks!
Let’s see Sonic x My Little Pony collab + editing out Chris Thorndyke = awesome
Thanks. It has Hot Wheels Acceleracers in it and plus I added Scratch and Grounder from Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog, Orbot and Cubot from the Sonic games, and of course Deco and Beco.
@ Now all we need is for Sega to adapt the Metarex saga in Sonic Adventure 3…..without Chris Thorndyke…..and Silver, Blaze, and maybe Emerl added to the story
Actually this takes place after Season 3 when Sonic and Co return from space so will have Sonic characters from the later games including Silver, Blaze, Omega, Emerl, Sage, Orbot, Cubot, Marine, and others including characters from the IDW Sonic comics plus a couple characters from the Sonic Archie comics.
@@blairterry9435 That works
Heh a Season 4 intro.

@@blairterry9435 No, I believe you’re mistaken, the Postwar Celebration Texas Special is from 1999. Look it up.
If anyone knows about the locomotive in the video it’s Lionel’s model of NYC L2a 4-8-2 Mohawk No: 2700. Here’s a little background on the real life 2700 and its siblings and the eventual lead to the L2bs, L2cs, and L2ds and eventually leading to the creation of the L3as and creation of NYC’s famous 4-6-4 Hudsons. The real life 2700 was the first L2a Mohawk delivered to the Central by Alco better known as the American Locomotive Company in August of 1925 from Alco’s premier Schenectady shops which would build many of the New York Central’s iconic modern steam power including the Hudsons. The 2700 was part a order of 100 new 4-8-2s built high speed freight service on the Central’s routes and on the busy Water Level Route working alongside the railroad’s premier passenger locomotive at the time the K5 class 4-6-2 Pacific also built by Alco’s Schenectady. These new L2s were just locomotives that New York Central was looking for as their previous class of 4-8-2s the L1s as they were a good class of locomotives, but the Central needed more and Alco rebuilt 2 L1s with experimental features L1b Mohawk No: 2569 was given a 3rd cylinder which would be used for Union Pacific’s 4-12-2 9000 Class locomotives better known on the UP as the 9s because of their 9000s numbers. The other L1b No: 2568 was given not just a 3rd cylinder, but also a new experimental boiler. The two experimental locomotives had much to be desired, but ALCO decided to improve the L1 Mohawk with a better design. The L2as came equipped with Baker valve gear, a booster in the rear truck of the locomotive underneath the cab, 27X30” inch cylinders, 69” inch spoked driving wheels, a boiler pressure 225 psi, a tractive effort of 60,618 pounds with the booster creating 12,400 pounds of additional tractive effort, a Grate Area of 75.3 square feet, able to generate 3,300 Horsepower not bad for a 1925 4-8-2s, total engine weight of both the locomotive and tender was 364,000 pounds, the tenders used one these engines were new designed used on the then NYC’s new H10b class 2-8-2 Mikados which could carry 15,000 gallons of water and 21 tons of bituminous coal, locomotives had Elesco feed-water heaters on the top front of the boilers in front of the smokestack, a top speed 60 mph, but could go faster, however, the L2as had a tendency to rock and shake at higher speeds so they were limited to 60 mph, and the locomotives came equipped with Nathan 6-Chime Steptop whistles. The last L2a was built and delivered to the Railroad in 1926 by that time Super-Power designed steam locomotives began to appear the following year the Central needed a brand new passenger locomotive to pull its crack passenger trains at high speeds, so the railroad went to ALCO to enlarge a K5 with a extra rear wheel under the cab. What was created became the most popular and famous steam locomotive type ever produced that being the New York Central’s 4-6-4 Hudsons with J-1a No: 5200 rolling out of ALCO’s Schenectady shops and the Central loved the locomotive. So much that NYC placed an order to ALCO to produce 144 Hudsons for the J-1s with an additional 60 J-1s delivered to the NYC subsidiary roads that it controlled. In 1929 a few years the Hudsons began to be delivered the Central bought from Alco two sub classes of an improved version of the L2s the 6200 series L-2bs for the Big Four Route in February 1929 from numbers 6200 to 6224 and later t to 2900 to 2924 when the Big Four was completely merged into the Central, newer L-2cs in April of the same year from road numbers 2800 to 2899 also by Alco, and the last L2 subclass came later that year as the L2ds as the later L2s began to take on the appearance of the new Hudsons. Newer tenders were made for them too. In all the NYC had a grand total of 300 L2s on their roaster, but like all steam engines they couldn’t last forever as after World War II diesel locomotives began to replace the aging steam locomotives by the 50s the L2s made their stand against the Diesel on the Michigan Central and the Big Four Route trackage and by 1957 all were retired and scrapped including 2700. Except for 1 that is as younger sibling L2d No: 2933 survived and was donated to the National Transportation Museum in St.Louis, Missouri as part of their collection of steam, diesel, and electric locomotives across the US. Also a survivor of the dual purpose Mohawks also made it into preservation as L3a Mohawk 3001 the 2nd engine in the L3a class survived and now is on display at the National New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart, Indiana alongside the old NYC mainline between New York to Chicago. However, 3001’s future may change as plans of restoring and operating 3001 back to running condition are in the making if Norfolk Southern decides to restart the 21st Century Steam Program that ended in 2017 or CSX after their changing mood towards steam locomotives and the unveiling of heritage units could signify a future steam program in the making. It is highly unlikely 2933 will be restored to running condition because the L2s were limited to 60 mph and weren’t designed for dual service pulling both passenger or modern freight trains, but one could dream and hope one day a modern NYC steam locomotive would return to the mainline pulling railfans or pulling freight on the mainline like what UP does with 4014 and 844 on their way to their assignments.
Gotta Go Fast

Totally agree, fantastic layout and that engine is great, along with the rolling stock.
I have never seen a model of this, at first iam thinking a T 1 but no its not that. That sound is awesome.
I should read the description before I comment, I guess it's a modified version. I would want to use kitbash on such a beautiful piece of work. Iam watching this one again.
Cool. Just wait until a official Lionel Model is released.
Good times , nice sound .
