Spiroid winglets on my tiltrotor
Made a quick set of spiroid winglets and attached them to my tiltrotor over the weekend.
This was just a short project for fun so don't read into it too much. Lots of printing issues since I didn't have the time to properly dry out my filament after sitting in the damp for a few months, but a bit of filler and paint makes them look a little cleaner.

Flying the Oblique Wing
Переглядів 7 тис.6 місяців тому
For my spring side project I made a functional RC model of the oblique wing concept. Inspired by the @MustardChannel video of the same topic! The model is a custom design printed from LW-PLA and running ArduPilot. Most of the electronics and other non-printed hardware was scavenged from my spare parts drawer or the remains of crashed models. I wrote a short blog post about the build here if you...

Would you mind posting files for this? I would love to make one.
Kindly share the STLs

are the files available
Hi Sir, I’m Aion. I watched Mustard’s Oblique wing aircraft video and attempted to construct a similar RC aircraft using Depron board and two 2400kv BLDC motors with 3D printed ducted propeller but initial attempt did not achieve the desired results. I'm keen to learn from your experience. I would be immensely grateful if you could share the 3D model and detailed measurements of your oblique wing RC aircraft. I’m just an Aeronautical enthusiast kid who want to build something new. So it’ll be honor for me to build something with your shared knowledge. Thank you. this ain't something ordinary bro, keep up the work and wouldn't mind to give the subs for this kind of creativity
that's crazy when it transitions it doesn't drop... maybe auto correction but cool to see it actuate in the air
You are a legend! Keep your amazing job
Very cool dude
is it noticeably faster with the wing swept? looks great
Super cool!
extremely well done! This isn't my first time seeing this but it always makes my head think "how is that flying". Im in my thesis year in college and honestly, you gave me an idea for a topic! Great video fam. Subbed!
Thanks, the thing that surprised me most was how strange it is to maintain orientation with the wing swept... Good luck with your thesis!
@@samhyams right? perhaps there's offsets occurring that cancels out any offsetting effect. May I ask if you ever launched it while it was already tilted?...thanks man!
Experimental music like an engineering performance 🇪🇸🇮🇨👍
Cool project 👌
how about trying a trapezoidal wing planform instead of an elliptical? that might help with stability aswell as tailerons and a more conventional tail so the ailerons dont have to compensate that much all on their own. Very cool project and amazing work already!
Parallelogram is actually more optimal, with extra high aspect ratio to reduce oblique cord length. Plus any dihedral is working directly against you in terms of stability, so no tip flares lol
No way! I was thinking of doing the same idea. Ah ya beat me to it. Noice work!
Give it a try, it's always interesting to see others' implementations of the same concept :)
@@samhyams I definitely will!
amazing work!
