If I were her, I'd accept a schollarship to Berkley, and after she eats that school for breakfast, go on the road and play with every major bluegrass and country player at every famous venue in the country. She should thank her lucky stars she's not me.
It could be because she doesn't feel as confident picking the guitar really fast like that live on stage. Judging by her facial expressions she seems apprehensive about the whole affair, even though it sounds perfectly awesome to the rest of us....
It seems to be Johnson Carolina series guitar. Maby JD26 if it has mahongany sides and back or JD27 if it has rosewood sides and back. It's hard to say which one. My guess is the JD26. These guitars are out of production.
Sure wish she'd play her fast flatpicking guitar in concert, cause she's as good on that as she is on the mandolin. but for some reason sierra only plays slow guitar on stage, for gospel songs.
This video caught me off guard for sure, she is fantastic on guitar and mandolin. I love the end run, it's superb. Makes me kind of regret going the Joe Satriani route a little bit, but then again I like doing legato runs all the way from one end of the neck to other, but, damn the open position stuff is just so "bluegrass", which I am finding I genuinely love these days :)
she makes the hairs on my feet to my neck stand up. lol love your comment:) yes she should play the guitar so much more. But then she'd put Tony Rice out of business. lol
Impressionante... E pra variar a maioria dos brasileiros não conhecem.... Mais um grande artista que é mais reconhecido no exterior que aqui, que é seu país
So is Sierra a virtuoso mandolinist or guitarist! What was she, 17 or 18? Absolutely amazing. Both of them.

A teenage Sierra Hull just warming up and having fun. Amazing!
Still one of my favorite UA-cam videos in 2019! Does anyone know where Carl Berggren is now?
I am shocked this does not have more views. Its 11 years old for goodness sake. I doub't Chet Atkins could play like that at this age.
I'm speechless.
That girl is FIRE
Isn't Sierra Hull like the cutest badass in the world? She's so talented she scares me.
She's just too good-- a natural.
Wonderfull guitar!

Sierra can work it on any stringed instrument. It's even more phenomenal considering that she has small hands, and fingers.
OMFG
Mandolin player has nothing on sierra !
NA VERDADE ISSO E MUITO DEMAIS ESPETACULAR
just a quick one...
she makes the hairs on my feet to my neck stand up. lol love your comment:) yes she should play the guitar so much more. But then she'd put Tony Rice out of business. lol

Is he Jimmy Hendrix ?
The friggin' amount of notes covered by both are beyond comprehension. Superb. Magnifique.
Best Roanoke cover ever!!!
the best!
Who is the guy playing the mandolin? Who is Carl Berggren?
Gracias Elton por rescatar a Leon, 2 hombres de gran talento y sensibilidad. Mauricio
I believe that would be Carl Berggren.
Best video of all time
The guitar also sings when plays.
