The only thing I agree with why Kagome is better for him right now is that she indeed is still alive. But if Onigumo/Naraku didnt tear them apart and Inuyasha became human, I think they would have an equal good live together. Kikyo was loved by the villagers, could smile too, cared for Inuyasha like no other, was skilled and wise for her age, and both searched for a place to belong...which they would have found in each other. Kikyo´s love for him and her last wish made the anime "Inuyasha" come to life. And in the end she went in peace knowing that Inuyasha came for her T_T
