I try to buy made in USA and I was disappointed when I received these same jigs last spring and saw made in china. So beast coast is a negative for me. The hooks are too light for me.

In the saltwater we use a lot of different jog head designs. Some have the line tie in the front for the grass flats. This year I plan to try the Core Tackle TUSH and Hover Rigs more in the saltwater instead of jig heads. I think putting the weight in the soft plastic may be better. I fish for flounder and redfish mostly and I ordered a bunch of different weights and hook sizes to try. Hopefully they work. The way the Hover Rigs go in the plastic with the line tie farther back makes jerk shads and shrimp imitations a crazy action.

If you are lying on the bottom of the lake and your rod tip is touching the bottom than maybe a 60% jig head may bury in the mud. Since I'am fishing out of the boat with my rod at 9 or 10 o'clock it's not likely to happen. A jig head is going follow your line regardless of where the line tie is. Some work better in brush, some in rock but they all are just a hunk of lead on a hook. The one thing they have in common is they all catch fish.

Grow a pair and bail on your ffs. That shit is for dickless cowards.

That new Gamakatsu Nano Alpha Horizon Head LG jig head is bad to the bone on 2.75 up to 3.3 or 3.5 swimbaits. Been fishing it this year and it’s become my go to. And they stick then big smallies the way you want em stuck and they ain’t gonna throw em. Might try a couple of pack. #1 on 2.75 and # 2&3 on bigger. I also fish #2 on a 2.75 it the fish are big and on the bottom.

I fish em on the Tennessee River all the time and I agree with your choices for the same reasons.

It’s a good channel, you answered one of my comments last year on a T-rig and it totally changed how many bass I caught last year. I’m throwing a T-rig into heavy cover, not really sure if that’s considered flipping but I have most success with a 4” zoom curly tail worm. Using 20lb braid to 10lb floro. That big bite bait craw tube looks like something I need to try. Is the body hollow or solid on that?

Follow the 15% rule as well. Try not to increase your mileage by more than 15% per week. I run marathons and you'll greatly reduce your injury risk by gradually increasing your distance (ask me how I know). Also, dont overdue the pace early on. Increase your pace or your distance. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t finish ahead of that time. Just finish then you’ll have a time to beat. I’ve sadly never caught a fish on a jig and very few on drop shot. Gotta try little generals. I can’t put down t-rig. Looking forward to the fall content. You gotta plug this channel to get you over the 1k hump.

5k is gonna be tough in 34 mins with no training but I think you got it. Best of Luck. Top Oct baits for me are flat worm, TRD, coffee tube, and maybe a chigger craw or 2.8" fat swing impact. I'm a finesse guy, like to keep it simple and go with what gets bites.
