Georgia Tech GIFT End of Summer Highlights Video 2019
Founded in 1991 as a program of the Georgia Institute of Technology's CEISMC, GIFT provides paid summer STEM internships in industry workplaces and university laboratories for K-12 science, mathematics, and technology teachers. Teachers spend 4 to 7 weeks experiencing first hand how industrial scientists and researchers approach problems, design experiments, interpret data, communicate findings, and develop and implement workplace solutions. GIFT offers teachers "real world" applications of the subjects they teach, allowing them to increase content knowledge and gain practical examples of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics applications for enriched instruction and teaching practices based on evidence-based experiences. Since its founding, GIFT has placed teachers in more than 2000 positions statewide.

Hello sir, I was wondering if I could come in contact with you for a science project. If you see this could you please send a message to rubenbotell7@gmail.com? I am trying to make a device to help visually impaired people and I would like your help on how to work with the NXT program and devices, specifically the ultrasonic sensor. Thank you and God bless you!

Hello Steven, thanks for the tutorial. I've watched a number of videos explaining how to calibrate the light sensor, but my own NXT 2 fails to pick the minimum value. When I upload the calibrate program and launch it, the minimum value starts off with 1023 (which should be the max value). While videos on youtube actually show that the light sensor is reacting to the sources of light. Mine doesn't. It just sets to 1023 value no matter what I do, whether shine the strong beam of green laser light at it or close it with a dark phone cover. I've tried changing the ports and cables. The color sensor works fine so I don't think the sensor is malfunctioning. Would appreciate any help with this.
