In this video I show you how to work the Italian (or tubular) bind off. This bind off technique mimics the Italian (or tubular) cast on, is very stretchy and has a very neat and professional look.
Before working this bind off, you usually work 2 or 4 rows of 'double knitting' (depending on your pattern). Double knitting in this case means that you only work every other stitch each row or round.
So in a 1x1 ribbing you work the last rows as follows:
Row/Round 1: *K1, Slip 1 yarn in front*, repeat *(...)* for all the stitches until the end of the row/round or, when having an uneven amount of stitches, K1.
Row 2 (when knitting back and forth): as row 1
Round 2: *Slip 1 yarn in back, P1*, repeat *(...)* until the end of the round
When working 4 rounds of double knitting, repeat rows/rounds 1+2 one more time.
