Grammy with a hammer
Приєднався 20 лип 2013
I am a 40 something year old, grandmother, wife and first time homeowner. This channel is about sharing the skills I have learned to not just survive, but succeed in this journey called life.
Legos Super Hero Castle Carrying Case
My grandson is having a birthday!! His obsession for now is Legos superheroes. He has a ton of them. But every good superhero needs a secret lair. So grammy is on the case!
I was able to get the unfinished castle overnited from Michaels, and with the online coupon, I was able to get it for less than $40!
I used the most economical supplies I could.
This grammy is on a budget!

I need space! So, here we go, putting another tool and workspace on casters! Also, I am trying 4K with my go pro camera. I couldn't figure out how to use an exterior mic, so I hope it's loud enough. I used a gladiator cabinet for my base, and of course, it's my ryobi miter saw. Thanks for watching!

I purchased the Hourleey Compost tumbling bin on Amazon. honestly, it looked like good quality at a decent price, and that if I failed miserably with it, it wasn't too much wasted money!

I need a bedside table lamp... I have a light kit and some left over pallet wood... I will be honest, I lost half the footage I did for this project... But now that I look at it, that maybe a good lesson in editing for me, because maybe I am putting too much footage in my videos??? I also found a couple new songs on youtube library, so I hope you enjoy the music. Lesson from all of this, I am r...

Idear, you can take the lady out of Maine but never the Maine out of the Lady
Hi. I'm in the same boat, but with a DirtyPro benchtop planer. It's probably too late for you now, but I bet both of those belts would fit. They are very tight and have a small bit of stretch in them, although it might not feel like it. I'm a whitegood engineer and these are smaller versions of washing mchine & tumble dryer belts which do need finessing on.
Thank you for the idea! I have moved on to a dewalt planer but I am sure some day I will have to replace that belt too!
IPE is pronounced eeee Pay as I recall. The oily waxy ends are treated that way to increase drying time and to reduce the wood from checking or cracking due to drying too fast. NIce box of wood! I agree the price isnt too bad. What are the dimensions of what you got? cool video . OOOOOH and beware of smelling Zebra wood, looks amazing, smells like someone's dog got in and did a doo doo in your shop. I'm serious. check out a pen blank next time your at a rockler or a woodcraft store LOL
This looks exactly like the vivosun compost bin but I didn’t want to pay extra just for a known name brand and this video helped me make the decision. Really appreciate it 👍🏽
I am so glad I could help!
The new batteries will not leak and the leaking goo is non toxic. The big battery you have which is "stacked lithium" will not leak
I run flex tools at my work, if you have any questions i can help 😀
Did you register gor for lifetime warranty? If not call the flex support and they can replace the batteries that are leaking
Thank you! I will try friday
So lovely!
❤❤
Get a Chainsaw for Total Tranquility.
I have tried using a chainsaw, but due to the weight I don't feel safe with it.
Based upon her review, I would not at all consider purchasing this. I bought a Ridgid and am very happy with it.
Fair enough! Thank you for watching.
It was a good review, no sugar coating, just an honest review. I know what you mean about concentrating when using the saw, really helps in clearing the mind :-)
Thank you so much for watching! It really helps me relax
the arches in the grain are cathedrals and the light marks that resemble stretch marks are called medulary rays. very beautiful. you see alot of them in oak pieces.
Thank you so much.
nice to see another E&K fan
IPE is pronounced I PA with a long A
Get some really good kneepads. Try them out in the store. They really relieve the pressure points aches and makes it easy to get up. I would have gone with a light brown colored grout. That color looks similar to the grout on the walls. You are really funny, too. 😂 Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestion!
Minwax paste wax
Thank you I will give it a try!
I didnt even think about using the T teacks from the saw, I have one for my router table as well ... Now I gotta see if they both fit in my grooves ... THANKS FOR THAT !!!
Thank you for watching
I watched a bunch of videos and learned how to make a few different sleds for my router, and table saw. Mine has the ridges on it (craftsman) so had to put runners on the sides of the saw. Pain in the butt , but it works
Nice work. Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for the awesome video, Maggie! It's great seeing some female representation in the woodworking community. Hope you keep making helpful content like this.
Thank you for watching. I just want to learn and show how anyone can do this if you try
Ah, I marched in this! I was in one of the bands!
The parade was great you were awesome!
What are the dimensions?
Had to stop watching, her hands were making me sick.
A list of ingredients with brands would be helpful. Could not see the brands on the jugs or powder packets
I am sorry about that. It's Teexpert brand off of amazon
I never use a jointer. Wine glass holders would be nice with these species. Judging from size that would probably be a nice project for ya.
Thank you for the idea! I seem to be hoarding small pieces of pretty wood so that idea would be perfect!
How thick were the pieces?
Hi there! They are 3\4 of an inch thick. Thank you so much for watching!
Take care with greenheart. Splinters can become septic. Otherwise-good deal for the price.
Thank you for the advice. I also starting cutting these exotics outside and wearing a mask.
😂
Your cute and stylish cat tray is now ready! Thank you for sharing the beautiful and wonderful video🥰✨🐱💐💕💕💕
Thank you! 😊 I enjoyed experimenting with the idea

Keep it up! Love the concept, and screw HOAs 😂 have a good day:)
Thank you so much for the encouragement!
I use a Makita 6 ½" cordless 18 volt saw. It is light weight and i can cut a lot of wood before I need to recharge the battery. I cannot use a 7 ¼" due to the weight of the saw. Nice video. Glad that you are doing projects and building things. Good for you
Thank you so much for the advice I love wood working but I have to be more aware of weight of tools then I had to in the years past
Ipe is very hard, rot resistant. Nice box of wood.
I'd recommend the Makita 6 1/2 XSH03, it is incredibly smooth and not too expensive. It's my favorite saw, and I have tried many. The 40v GSH05 that came out is supposed to be very similar but smoother and more powerful.
Thank you! How is it weight wise? I have arthritis starting and that is the only thing with this saw that really bothers me
@@grammywithahammer2867its the same weight with a battery on it as the FLEX is without a battery, so it's the weight of a battery less.
Ive had early onset arthritis due to Lymes since I was 16 and Makita have the least vibration and best ergonomics of every tool brands, they are a joy to use and my hands aren't exhausted after using them.
Thank you so much for the suggestion!!! I am guessing I have an addition to my Santa wish list now!
Wow!! They turned out amazing!!! Great work!!!!!!
Thank you for this video. I have been thinking about buying some wood from amazon. I think I will try it out from this seller. The wood looks beautiful. Did you end up making anything with it? How did it turn out? Thank you Charles
I loved the wood I made some smaller cutting boards, I made some tic tac tow boards and even made some wooden knives. I love learning about the different types of wood and techniques
Thank you for letting me know. I will purchase a box and see what I get.
Christmas lights are always a good present lol

I am a true newbie, and I want to share my experience learning, so that other newbies don't feel alone
Wish I had your energy.
I miss you! You need to come visit!
very nice sharing .....great footages...nice & interesting...big like
Thank you so much for watching! My grandson loves watching your trains!
Is the kitten for sale?!😂
Use a charge resistor to eliminate the spark. That is how I do it on my system. I have a resistor from a prius battery pack and an led across is to let me know when it is charged. I actually have it connected across the main breaker with a momentary push button and the led with the led resistor is wired to both ends of the big resistor. When the difference goes to zero the led will go out then throw the main breaker with no spark.
Thank you!!! I will give it a try!
Thank you for the advice !

You are old but even old people need dreams.
Thank you, you are one of the few people that speak the truth. Most of the videos I've seen are paid, so they made good reviews, and as you know that it's a big lie.
Thank you for your kind words
