Where can you buy this system? I went to frostbox website, no link to buy
We need interface for the ready rec button from the ssl to controle the protools ..
You also have my old Studer 24 track there.
I dig that room decor.
Typically, when you see that a problem goes a way after cold spraying the chip, it means one of a few things. First place to look is a solder connection or lifted copper plating on the PCB. Second, it could be a wire bond in the chip that has lifted and is intermittent. However, that is rare as these chips are plastic encapsulated. It is even more rare that the semiconductors would fail, unless there was a power output section to the chip. It is unheard of that the aluminum conductor diffusion on the chip goes bad. Third, you spraying the board and chip could be causing a termination of a floating signal path. See, cold spray causes water to form. That water will cause conduction on high Z circuits points. Water could pull the point up or pull it down. You have to ask yourself, if it was working before the move, then why not now? I would look at mechanical vibration issues that caused the problem. I would try a jumper wire from the IC pin to the end of the PCB trace. See if that helps. The signal you describe sounds like an open circuit. I design Pro Audio vacuum tube gear and design things to survive for 40 years at least. Including driving over speed bumps. I am a Silicon Valley engineer who worked a lot with wire bonded chips back in the 1980s. I could tell you about experiences where prototype hybrid chips that were rejected because of a goofball technician doing what you did and causing all the parts to fail due to the moisture. That is, until he got fired. It was not uncommon for a competitor to place a tech like this to cause the parts to fail during evaluation. That is called competition.... sometimes known as a mole. I just bought one of these A/D converters along with a PSX-100 for a stereo bus. I don't really have a use for the AD16 as of this time but what the heck. I don't understand the front panel vertical LEDs. I have yet to plug this unit in. I have heard great things about the PSX-100. By the way, I owned a Studer just like the one in this video back in the 1980s - 2000. I sold it in the late 1990s. Before that I had an MCI 2" 24 track. Jim Moss
Hi Jim. Thanks for you thorough comment. I did go over all the solder joints but you can definitely be correct and it seems you have far more knowledge than me on these matters. Thanks for checking out my video.
Well, I had just bought an Apogee AD16 and was looking around for comments or reviews. What I actually wanted and later got was an Apogee PSX-100 for mastering out at 96kHz. The AD16 was a backup. I used to have a Studer A80 2" like you have. They broke down to often though. I always rented them out. So I was never the guy who had to maintain it. Before that I rented out an MCI. So, yeah, I have been around chip and wire a lot over the years. I was published by IEEE while at Stanford SLAC in the second half of the 1980s. Before that I was the director of engineering near by. I designed all kinds of products from medical to radiation hard clocks for cameras that record the serial numbers off of fuel rods in power plants. I design recording studio gear now. Rack mount Pro Audio vacuum tube mic preamps. I designed the first one for my own recordings. You can check that out at mosswareproaudio.com I will probably trade the Apogee AD16 for something I need at some point. I don't record to a PC. It is too much like work. I am also a programmer and I want my musical work not be on a keyboard and monitor. I do enough of that in Adobe Premiere. Jim
Hello. I have a sd9 with stream deck ....Could you share that stream deck configuration file?
Hi. Please go to the product page to learn more on this solution including what software and hardware you need to buy labs.frostbox.net/products/macro-stream-sd/
Hi, I am trying to connect a streamdeck to use on a raspberry pi with Raspberry Pi OS. How have you managed to do this? Thanks
Hi. Have you bought my software solution (labs.frostbox.net/products/macro-stream-sd/) and need support? Or are you asking how I have created the software?
How about you also connected waves and waves control thru your Ethernet port of the console?
Connect your computer to the waves switch👍
Nice job! one question... could be done for DRAM 4532 or 4164?
seems liek a streamdeck with a sticker over their logo
Yes correct. I mention this in the start. The product is the custom software I have made to make it a seamless extension of the Digico SD user interface with plug n’ play installation.
Hey. Could you fix mine.
Maybe. Please contact me directly here: labs.frostbox.net/about/
The A/B function will also work on the smaller stream deck? Allowing for 28 macros on the small (14A 14B)??
do you think that old apogee ad16 sounds good, to today standards?
OK not terrific :)
Can you do one for Avid S6L? I hate having to use their tiny function switches and the iPad app scares mez
snapascrew Thanks for the interest. I will look into this in the near future. It should not be that difficult it seems :)

will this work with an SD12?
Cale Conrad yes
@@frostboxstudios8151 Sweet! so how do I set it up? I want to use it for my "Aux on faders" set up (I work at monitors) instead of having it float on my screen
Hello, I'm interested to know how do you program your Stream Deck.
Where can one get the digideck os for raspberry pi?
It will be available as a download later this summer.
Could you provide the Arduino .ino file and the schematic please? Your hand drawn schematic would work too. By the way, do you know how much power that 4000G+ consumes? Thnx a lot.
Please check out labs.frostbox.net/2020/03/24/4116-d-ram-tester-with-schematics-and-code/
Regarding power please check the excellent documentation from Recycled Audio: www.recycledaudio.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/SystemPower.pdf
Can you post the modified .ino file? Great work!
Finally got around to do it: labs.frostbox.net/2020/03/24/4116-d-ram-tester-with-schematics-and-code/
Wow, great upgrade tot he A80 !
this could be something my A80 really like....
TODAY my output 15.16 DEAD and the 3.4 make clicki noise on the sound : (
Awesome.
Perhaps you've already considered implementing for the A810 series? Only stereo I accept, but a nice networked Remote system would be very useful.
John Westbury I do have other machine interfaces in the pipeline for controlling more tape machines and other studio gear. Thanks for your interest!
Awesome.
