Removing a Stud with Damaged Threads (Honda Transmission)
Переглядів 3472 роки тому
In this video I remove a stud from the transmission of my 1989 Honda Civic. The threads of the studs were so damaged by a previous owner that the “double nut” technique did not work, so I had to resort to power tools.

I was struggling like crazy under the car trying to get to the laches till I saw your video Man U we’re right I pulled that panel and sure enough the cable was off the metal bracket in the car thank you so much because I’m always under the hood of this car it burns oil so I keep an eye on it always again thank you.
Really happy this video is still helping people, thanks for the comment!
Great explanation! Thank you, I'm off to buy a very long screwdriver!
Well, turns out on my R56 this is the problem! Only mine has a plastic housing that holds the wire in the clip and it wants to pop out every time it pulls now. No idea how to make it stay without glue or some sort of exterior clip. Maybe a zip tie?
Yo I need this exact sub harness where is it
CJs Wiring, but not sure he's still making these.
I'm going to have to give this a go tomorrow with my wife's clubman. Thanks for the tips
Definitely needed this. Mines not wet or anything and still not working. Guess ill try the vinegar comment below
Thank you sooo much for sharing. Top man, well that was much easier than I expected! 🙏
@@Stan-lq9ud Really glad this video is still helping people, thanks! 🙏
You saved me a lot of work with the inside cable holder problem. Tks
Do i need that sub harness to run a d16 obd1 or is it only for the obd2 engine? My chassi is obd0 so if i use a cheap obd1 swap harness i need that sub harness still right? Thanks
@@brunopt2406 I don’t know, sorry. This is my first engine swap. I recommend you do some research. If you have the engine and ECU already then start looking at what plugs you have and what plugs you need.
Unfortunately this didn't work for me but I noticed the bulb connector had a lot of copper oxide on it. Cooked it in a bit of vinegar and salt for about 10 minutes, dried it out and connected back together and all seems to be working (in case this is helpful for anyone else with this problem).
Where do I buy sub harnsss
Glad i saw this video, my dad just got the power tools out and we were about to saw this car in half lol
This looks like an 88, but the location is the same location for all first generation legend sedans
Thanks sir
This is bull shit i have 2 single cam starters and they both look exactly like both the ears are shorter on a single cam than the b series
Thank You Brother! 🤓
That was the best advice ever!!
Perfect video, got me out of a bind! Thanks!
Glad to hear this is still helping people!
This was so helpful, until I saw this I was baffled as to ho to open the bonnet. HOWEVER we had a different problem, the ball on the end of the release cable that connects to the 2 release cables inside the little black plastic fitting, had come out of the diecast block ! I inserted a thin plastic piece above the mechanism and closed the lid so it cant come out again. By the way, we were able to rech up and release the latches by hand !
Thanks friend, watching your video helped me a lot. greetings, thank you again
AutoDoc power :)
Done an hour, , given up
Show where the wire came from.
Men you're my hero today 😊 I've been working two days on my mini to change the vanos with the solenoids, oil gasket ect. and after I've finished everything and I did the test drive I tried to open the bonet to have a look at what I've done and the cable popped up right exactly where you said in the video (I thought it braked in front somewhere)!!!👏🙌!😂 Thank you very much for sharing with the community 🙏🤟🙌 God bless you 😇
So good to hear I could help so many people, thanks for sharing!
Will it work on a OBD1 on a 92-95 Civic EG hatch ?
Of course
Thank you very very much
Great video. Worked perfectly for me. Thank you!
Where can I get that harness
Jackspania racing I think
Life Saver!!
Got a link to where i can buy it mate ?
I was able to put an arm up to open the right side with fingers ...... So there's that
My wife had this issue this morning when she went to check the oil, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for sharing this video and this information. I pulled things out, put the plastic piece back in the hole and we were good......until it happens again. Once I watched this, I knew exactly what to do. Saved me time, aggravation and money.
What’s the numbers on the b series one with the spiral? I’m having trouble dining one like it
Thanks
il est bon de voir les points fort mais aussi les points faible. merci pour cette vidéo très intéressante
Danke! Du hast mir sehr geholfen! 🎉
Please do for ka8 1993 coupe
How do you get it back on?-
I left mine hanging for a week and then thought it'll fail again soon like this. So I cable tied it to the bumper vent. Now it looks a bit odd. lol Best thing is to undo the bottom of the bumper if you can. I probably can, but I don't and won't.
@@SM-mk9kl I put mine back on using "amtech 11Inch Bent Nose Plier - 45 Degree" , can poke them through the grill!
@@mattg1919 nice 1 😎🍰
That got me out a bind there. Didn’t have a long screwdriver but a bit of copper pipe with a hammered end done the trick
Thank this vid helps make sense of stock charge harness and how simple it really is
help! I can't find the chassis harness anywhere online, the one with the round fold that looks very simple in your video, any idea of how and where I can find it and what is its specific name, regards
Try contacting CJ at CJs Wiring. He doesn't list swap harnesses on his website anymore but you can check if he can make something up for you. www.cjs-wiring.com/
Actually he has swap harnesses listed again, I just checked. Is this the harness you need? www.cjs-wiring.com/product-page/b-d-h-f-j-chassis-sub-harness
Literally just opened the hood in under 10 min from this. And also to get drivers side latch there is a line of site on my car from the left side of the coolant hose to see where the pry are is going
U should build awd ef
When the next video:)
Ur doing a great job for your 1st time man. There's a lot of unanswered questions out there concerning wiring for going OBD1 specifically pertaining to the EF and CR-X chassis an I'd say this covers most of em an should def help out alot of ppl.
Thanks, glad to hear this is as useful to others as it would have been to me!
You are a DIAMOND - Thank you!! You saved me hours of frustration and annoyance trying to get into my bonnet to refill my screen wash when I thought the bonnet cable had broken. All sorted in less than 5 mins. Awesome :)
Great to hear, this comment made me very happy 🥳
Vtec nerd, but gives 1% of the information about B and D series starters. Please, if you're going to make a video of differences between anything in the future, dont muck about and give superficial obvious differences. Take the time to actually research and give proper information, not this noob wackery. Apologies for the rant. But You can do better.
To be absolutely clear, the d series starter you showed can fit a b series gearbox with slight modification, and it will work perfectly for years.
Many thanks. My R56 had the same problem.
