From Oz … very pleasant video. Thank you. Emigrated in 1969, have returned soooo many times to see relatives. Last year, finally managed to spend time on holiday with cycling as a key component. Now looking at Lejog for ‘25. Planning same Sustrans route on NCN. BUT will plan to combine tent, hostels and hotels. No support car. Pray for fine weather as you appeared to have. And no mention of midges!
Lovely footage 🙂👍
Great memories, but after the climb out of Clova the top plateau is a druge.
That looks like a lovely place to cycle around!
Very nice, tranquil video of a beautiful area 🚴♀️👍
Thanks very much. I'm pleased that you enjoyed it and bothered to say so.
@@outandaboutinscotland3561 it's the least I can do after all the effort you put into making that video! Much appreciated 👍
The ptarmagin Tbar looks like it’s having a seizure
I am thinking of buying one,but I noticed there is a GAP inbetween the engine and the deck.....I could put my Fingers through the gap. Surely that space in-between the engine and Deck, would limit the amount of Suction,to suck up cuttings, into the grass bag.. I am PUZZLED,why there IS,a gap,AT All. ?????? 🫢🫢🫢
Thank you for your discription of Dumbarton it brings back happy memories I spent many summer holidays as you say the High Street hasn't changed much down the years and Dumbarton Castle is a visit not to be missed and Denny test tank :)
I visited Cardross with some German guests at the beginning of September. The welcome in the pro shop was brusque to say the least. We were overcharged , the course has a good layout but the condition of the greens was shocking - I’ve seen better tee boxes. Seriously embarrassed to take my German guests there after playing several other Scottish courses for less money and in excellent condition with a very convivial atmosphere. We will not be returning.
Top man fiddly but it worked 👍
It's a lovely place, I see you stayed at Cnoc nan Uan with Effie, she is a darling I will be there in September, she always makes me so welcome over the years, Thank's Effie xx
Stunning place
Lovely to see the route again! I cycled this in June 2021 - my little dog came too riding in her Brompton basket. We camped - it was the best holiday ever. Thank you for making this little film and sharing with us 🥰
Thanks for your positive comment and congratulations on your trip, particularly on the camping bit and having a passenger.
That was interestin I will have a go in the summer Thanks for your video🚴🚴.from Wednesday wheelers😃
Lovely course
Covid-19 is a scam. County Waterford Ireland has a 99% as adult population vaccinated what is has the highest covid-19 infection rates in Europe full stop County Monaghan Ireland is the least most vaccinated County in Ireland but has the least covered infection
It was awful the whole world was the same at this time though. I hope that it never happens again.
Thinking of doing the same and using tent on night. Ok on cycle route ?
I'm a softie and used hotels so I can't really help with this question. Good luck on your ride - it will be great fun
Many thanks for posting this.... I've bought the NCN LEJOG book, it is longer at almost 1200miles but do you think its worth the extra mileage? All the best
The NCN route is for people who want to take their time and see the country rather than risking their lives flying along main roads to complete the trip as quickly as possible. You will know which best reflects your thinking but for me the extra miles were well worth it and meant that I just saw even more of the country that I hadn't seen before. I hope that helps and good luck when you do go off on your adventure.
@@outandaboutinscotland3561 My thinking exactly.... a friend had a bad accident along one of the A roads in Scotland whilst doing the shorter version JOGLE which made me look at the NCN route originally. It's good to know it takes out that worry..... I suppose the only worry then is what to have for dinner :-) Many thanks
Sir you are a gentlemen and a star!
Thanks very much - glad to have helped
Great stuff... exactly the repair I needed... but on my rx100
Thank you for the content. Unfortunately, the lack of image stabilization means that I cannot watch it for long.
Useless video, more than half of it is of the fella moaning. How about showingus how you take the underneath apart?
I fell asleep watching this
Inspiring, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for asking the trouble to say so. If you are interested in more detail about the route there is a write up on my website and this is a link outandaboutinscotland.co.uk.websitebuilder.prositehosting.co.uk/cycling/lejog-introduction
Nice video
OutandAboutinScotland .....I have the Mountfield sp465r ....the drive axel / pully system looks exactly the same as on yours ( I could be wrong ).....my belt is always coming off either the front ( blade ) pully or the rear drive pully.....I only learned the other day that there is a tension spring at the rear drive pully system ...it gives tension to the belt....if I get a pair of long reach pliers I can release that spring by pulling it out of its attaching hole and then the whole mechanism rotates and the belt is loose ...re attachment then becomes really simple ...hope this works on your model...Regards
Nice, but not a bicycle in sight
Супер! Найкраще місце для катання!!!!
Great vid ,,, I thinking Scotland maybe the only option this year , what date was this shot roughly
Thanks - I'm glad that you liked it. I put most of my videos on my website with a bit of description and it says that it was 15th February 2016. This is a link to the Nevis Range page if you would like to have a look outandaboutinscotland.co.uk.websitebuilder.prositehosting.co.uk/skiing/nevis-range
Thanks for video 👍... I’ve visited all these parks before many times but good to look back at them and the best way to explore is by cycling 🚴♂️
Thanks Gavin - I'm pleased that you liked the video
Want to do this, but it looks like the conditions will take chunks out of my board...
Looks great, on my to do list
Britain is so beautiful.
Aw I'd love have the courage to do this! Great video!
Absolutely brilliant video. The clutch wouldn't engage the roller so the machine was booked in to the repair shop. Thanks to isolation we watched your video and have now repaired the machine. Thank you so much.
Thanks Mo - very pleased that it helped
God this is boring
Brought back some great memories of cycling Hadrian's Way from Silloth last October. By the way, great improvement in style from the Carlisle to Dumbarton video. Both give a great impression of the sights along the way, but the 'view over the handlebars' here gives a better impression of what it feels like, and it's a great break from 'wide angle going into zoom'.
Thanks Mark - I'm glad that you enjoyed the video and you have made me aware that I need to take a bit more care when putting the video together. I often take very hurried clips or photos because they are primarily to remind me of the trip but - "if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well" I'll try harder. If you like cycling I put accounts of rides on www.outandaboutinscotland.co.uk

Chapeau, did lejog 2017, carried on to Orkney then Shetland right to the very end at Unst Burrafirth and ran out of road!
very good
Great video! This was the practically the same route my wife and I cycled unsupported in July/Aug 2018. It really brought back wonderful memories of the ride, places and people! I hope you have many more cycling adventures and a big thumbs up to the Sustrans!
Thanks for taking the trouble to get in touch with a positive comment on the video. If you are interested in comparing your route with mine I have a detailed description on my website at outandaboutinscotland.co.uk.websitebuilder.prositehosting.co.uk/cycling/lejog-introduction
Thank you for doing this video. Good news! - My belt had come off but I managed to get it back on without undoing any nuts and bolts. Thanks to daveycrockett64, for pointing out the belt cover - I hadn't noticed that under the grass cuttings that had collected on top of it. Here's how I did it: First I disconnected the plug lead - you don't want the engine to start as you turn the pulleys. (Ok, I did have to undo 3 nuts to take the pullstart assembly off so I could get the plug lead off but that's easy enough). Then I pushed the belt cover forward and put a screwdriver under it and prized it upwards to remove it. Then I tied the belt tightly round the pulley by the blade which caused the other end of the belt to spread out. The drive unit is spring loaded to keep the belt tight. This means you can push/twist it towards the other pulley. This also lowers the pulley down slightly so you can get the belt over it by working from above and below. Not easy but I did it. Thanks again to you both.
Thats a stunning trip. Great footage too!
Fantastic journey. Well done 👍
Brilliant weather and super hotel made this a great holiday - well done on the video Ronnie.
Great video.
A great preview for my journey this summer Thanks!!

Very enjoyable video! I wish I had a backup team like you did, then I reckon I could do it!
