I crashed my DJI AVATA 2!!!
I took out my DJI Avata 2 for a flight in some extremely calm weather by a beautiful cliff in the north of Iceland. I experienced signal loss a mere 115 meters away.

If you ever want to feel extremely nervous, try recording drone footage over a lava field where literally hundreds of drones have already been lost. Came out great though. Recorded on my DJI Phantom 4 Pro.

So basically you lost signal to your goggles when you went behind the rocks, but the signal to your RC was still there and I see you were last flying your drone into the cliff. So you probably accelerated into the cliff and the drone got smashed and fell down. Hence nothing worked when you tried to turtle mode it. I got some signal boosters for the goggles of aliexpress and they kinda help with this sudden loss in signal. Your RTH would have worked if the drone had not smashed into the cliff. Also immediately stop accelerating or press pause button the moment you lose signal to your goggles, there is latency in transmission and when it drops like that the latency is more.
Shouldn't it stay stuck in the air after losing signal?
Why did it not switch to normal mode when it lost connection, R.I.P😢
I would love an explanation for that 😢

I guess this drone survived! This volcano has claimed over 100 drones so far...
I also took as little risk as possible getting these shots. Picked a day with mild winds to go see it, landed my drone any time the wind picked up.

Would appreciate more, longer footage of the spatter cones, including angles from all around and right above, within a safe distance for the drone of course. Showing the same thing over and over kinda boring.
I appreciate the feedback. A lot of drones have been lost around this eruption so I was mostly trying to keep the drone safe.
