    Could you make a tutorial for installing an external antenna?

  • @yertelt5570
    @yertelt5570 4 дні тому

    If you flash the CYD with the bmorcelli loader you can save Marauder, Bruce, Ghost, whatever else you may want on a micro sd card and load them from a menu at start up or after a reset if you want to switch between apps. Edit: Wish I had found this earlier, I'm currently in the middle of building one that is similar but uses separate boards for the charger and GPS that use soldered connections. Other than the battery and the CYD, everything else came in multiples of 2 or 3 on Amazon except the on/off switch, that comes in a package of 20, which in my case was lost in shipping. When I get it refunded I'll probably just go downtown and buy one from Radio Shack, I'll probably pay as much as I would have for 20 but at least I'll have it. Anywhooo, the battery plus GPS board V1.3 would have been easier to assemble and easier to source. Nice job!

    This is a fun and easy build. I noticed the gps out on your pcb when i bought it. Do you have a suggestion for a solderless gps module? Also any plans to add an external 2.4 ghz antenna for added awesomeness?

      @Hedge-Tech-95 9 днів тому

      There aren’t any solderless options just yet but I am releasing one soon! It will be integrated directly into the Charge PCB. Stay tuned for that one as it will also add battery level indication :) If you message me on my shop I can sell you a module pre-soldered pretty cheap if you want. As for the external 2.4ghz. I will be doing another video and showing how to do an external antenna. Unfortunately soldering is required though for that.

    Wtf is marauder? A bunch of scripts to escape learning aircrack commands? Just buy a pocket wifi router for openwrt. It has better antenna, it is way less power hungry and offers all the packages you could possibly need. This right here, along with pwnagotchi and that dolphin thingy, is a bunch of poorly designed tools that make a lot of mistakes, and indirectly forces user to make even more.

    • @Hedge-Tech-95
      @Hedge-Tech-95 13 днів тому

      I mean, you can always go deeper… Imagine using aircrack commands. Write your own framework and tools. That’s how you sound. Marauder is using open source tools that were written for the ESP32 platform and executes them from an OPTIONAL UI. If this is a “bunch of scripts” it’s the same thing as using aircrack commands. That too is just a bunch of scripts in the end. Introduce people into the world and the more they’re interested, the more they’ll seek out. No one claims this is the best tool, but it is effective. These devices are the most searched in this space whether you like it or not. So we will continue to make videos for beginners and people that want to build these devices.

    • @ФеофанЭтополедолжнобытьзаполне
      @ФеофанЭтополедолжнобытьзаполне 13 днів тому

      @@Hedge-Tech-95 Aircrack is a framework already. With an "optional UI" nontheless. I'm not trying to stop you from making videos, lol. Im just warning users that this right here, building a customized device on a very restricted and at the same time very bloated platform that fits very poorly into the whole wireless world (first of all, hardware-wise), AND also using yet another layer of abstraction which effectively is this "optional UI", is a very bad idea. Now, the whole idea behind yet another layer is to encapsulate a lot of boring stuff. Sure, sometimes it works. But not in case of wifi and not in current state underlaying tools/frameworks are in. There are too many nuances to the whole sniffing/capturing thing that can't be addressed in any automated way (at least outside "real linux" environment). So, again, my advice would be to get a decent wifi-oriented device with a proper wifi-chipset on board and "normal" limux for embeds which supports the essential set of tools (at least aircrack-ng and hcxdumptool). Everything else would be a waste, especially if it requires so much hustle. You'll find out I'm right the moment you finally make it to hashcat 🤭

      @Hedge-Tech-95 Місяць тому

      If you’re referring to other videos, I think I’m the only one that made a PCB focused on adding a battery to the CYD. I made it with the intention to avoid the need to solder. I get anxiety soldering battery leads lol. If you’re referring to the GPS, you can’t avoid soldering that because you buy the modules without a wire, you must solder wires to it to connect to my board (or anything for that matter) Adding GPS adds the ability to war drive with the device!

    • @ConstructSC

      Most add a battery too. You can avoid that with a custom PCB though which was my main objective with this build. I think that’s where the most value is because I feel like most people want it to be a stand alone device but soldering a battery turns off a lot of people. All the other features stay the same with GPS, it really only adds the ability to wardrive when you add the GPS. It’s definitely a nice to have, but not necessary for the other 95% of features

      I think a lot of people, including myself have been waiting for a phone-like form factor portable computer. These are hugely in demand too. The device is getting a CM5 version pretty soon giving it a large jump in performance. It may not be powerful now but give these time. At that point it starts becoming a lot more practical. It’s discrete, super portable, and ridiculously cool. Comments all seem to agree.

      Don’t get me wrong. It’s very cool. If you have an android now tho you can already have Linux on your phone

      I wish they would release their gerbers and bom but they will not. You need to buy it from them. Apparently there are some components that you cannot get assembly services for which requires manual soldering.

    Nice build! I could see this being quite useful while wardriving where i could alternatively output the display to my headunit. Now i have yet another project/bom/pcb to add to my already ridiculous pcbway order damn it....stop making cool useful shit till after April '25 so i have that tax refund $ ya bastard.😂

      Definitely great for wardriving once you add that GPS module! RIP your tax return 💀

    What GPS modules are supported in interest in the PCB

      Great question, tested and compatible with Teyleten Robot ATGM336H NEO-6M, case was designed to fit that module. But should also be compatible with DWEII GY-NEO6MV2 with a revised case

      @ in the process of buying this module. What cables do I need if I wanted to connect both a battery and a gps module. Cable for battery and module then to cyd and how does the module attach to the cyd?

    • @Hedge-Tech-95
      @Hedge-Tech-95 Місяць тому

      For the module I include the cable for the PCB to the CYD (female to female 1.25 JST 4p) For the GPS you need a 1.25 JST 4P Female to flying leads for soldering. You can get the same wire as the one I provide but cut off one end for soldering to the GPS module. Battery you should just buy the battery I list since it comes with the connector and wire already attached (connector is a PH2.0 for the battery though so if you wanted to do something custom) Hopefully that helps

      @@WitherDimensions The CYD comes with the cable you'll need for the GPS too so you shouldn't need to buy any cable.

    Well dam Ill bite. I have a basic ESP32 wroom32 board running a simple version but this could be fun to tinker with. Any reason the board is only on Tindie? I am pretty sure you can have it linked directly to PCBway and get kickbacks for each order.

      I was actually unaware of this! If that is the case, i will update the link ASAP. Thanks for the tip! This would also make it more accessible to people internationally since shipping is the biggest cost.
