      I cannot say that one is better than the other. I like them both. Both have a much history to see and culture to experience. Sofia feels a more metropolitan and while Plovdiv has a more mid-sized city vibe.

    I just wanna say this "One of the Longest Pedestrian Streets in the world" is getting to be a bit of a myth at this point. There are 2 reasons... One completely natural and possibly 1 more... First is actually accumulative of two things. First... the entire city isn`t that large by any means... not as territorial, not as population. 2nd... is kind of how the first is ~true... I used to watch a lot of real time (streaming service) people around the world... and of one of them, that used to and probably still does present a lot of China Content... I am about 100% sure... practically every 2nd and 3rd Pedestrian Orientated Street in any self respecting Chinese town with population larger than Bulgaria`s entire country... is longer than the one in Plovdiv. The 2nd thing is... There are many naturally larger, more populated and much, much wealthier cities, which over time have heard about this Pedestrian Street length and intentionally made, over time of course, within them much longer Pedestrian streets, because they can and to prove this claim ~wrong... because most likely... it is. It just makes no sense... I am pretty sure If you go measure 5 car free streets in Moscow all of them will be longer in Kilometers... Than you can do the same in all major USA cities and the already Mentioned China... and than there are all the other incomparable Mega Polices (not sure about the spelling of this one) in the world. So even as someone born and raised in Plovdiv I cannot agree with that statement in minute 3:12... Maybe on the Balkans... <Maybe>.

      @sasho888prm 2 місяці тому

      Well the Plovdiv one is 1.8km long, I could not find a longer pedestrian street in Moscow, so unless you find a specific pedestrian street somewhere that is longer than 1.8km, then Plovdiv remains first.

      The shop salad was invented by a team of Balkantour chefs in Bulgaria. Some of these people are still alive :))). At that time Bulgaria was the southernmost point of the countries of the socialist camp and millions of tourists visited the Black Sea. The Bulgarians invented the Shop salad for the tourist industry :))). It is not really shop salad :))). About the shops, it is obvious that you have never been to Bulgaria. The Shops formed the most legendary army during the Balkan wars and the First World War - First Bulgarian Army called the Iron Army - they did not have a single loss. They lead the legendary battles at Doiran-Macedonia. Together with 11 Macedonian infantry divisions of 35,000 Macedonian volunteers practically routed the Serbian troops. This is their greatest pride. I suggest you go to Sofia and tell them they are Serbs and see what will happen to you :)))). These people also defeated Serbia during the Serbo-Bulgarian war of 1885. Do you even understand how ridiculous is your comment. You have zero knowledge of history, also zero understanding of modern realities. Bulgaria is 1400 years old nation. 1400 years ago Serbia and serbs did not even existed.

("I was sitting on the lower stone of the loading dock...") 3:53 This is Nyugati railway station, not Keleti. 5:30 Anonymous. His main work is the Gesta Hungarorum. An important source work, it collected the origin stories of the Hungarians.

Insist the local people comply with you views and way of life. Pay the locals poverty wages to mow your lawn, make your pizza... etc. The Mayor, city council, school board....all colonial occupiers, while at the same time exposing equality.

    I moved away from LA decades ago, but I remember riding down this hill on our bikes in high school. With one guy spotting for us on the bottom, we would try to ride all the way down without hitting the brakes. With speedometers on our bikes, we hit 55 MPH on the bottom of the hill. I still remember how scary that was many years later.
