I took me a couple of hours, but I got through it. The ending button is a switch, though. All in all, it took me 6 in game days, I killed 300 wolf spiders alone (exactly 300), and I died like 7 times (once giving up, once to my own bomb, twice to an area underground that instantly kills you for some reason, literally, the area is just dirt, once to the two widow lab area, once to the flying basketball area (fall damage works in any direction, ie, you smash your head), and once to a IWS jumping me from behind). I did enjoy it quite a lot, and, needless to say, it improved my ability to fight wolf spiders. There was always an element of surprise as I traversed the map, both from the spiders and from the various interactions (push a button and get teleported into a mantis bossfight with wasps). I mean, I never knew if I was going to be seeing fireworks or if I was going to be teleported to some other place. Some suggestions: walking into a boss fight, even on accident, basically forces you to kill the boss or die, unless you want threat detected the entire time. This was quite annoying, as it meant that, after I accidentally stumbled into the IBM lair, I had to make sure I didn't die. This also means that when I fought a different IBM and received several debuffs which last throughout the fight, they did not go away when I killed that IBM. So, I had three options: go with reduced healing, fight the other IBM right then, or give up and reset my buffs. Another suggestion I have is that when you get teleported via button, put a button on the other end which can teleport you back. Another: For the lab room with 2 widows in it, I would move the button to a different location. As of right now, you can cheese both widows by crouching on the chests and spamming the button. You might also want to include additional hints, as it can sometimes be difficult to figure out what is next (the Mant statues did help). Perhaps there could be a completion room with like a % completion based on special items collected and buttons/levers pushed. Maybe more in depth hints could be given here regarding items not needed to complete the level. For example, finding the 4 guardian locations. I think I found 2 of them. I would like to know where all 4 are, plus all of the weapons which are out there (I did find the pepper flake and lvl9 acid edge/sour battle axe). All in all, great map and very interactive with some pretty good lore.
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback...I'll take a look at what I can implement.🤝🏽
@@joashbergman5477 So I started to implement some of the things you suggested. I implemented a system to monitor your progress. Cleaned up a few things, made some changes to some of the signs....added a few signs by teleporters...gotta few more to do...been a while since I've been in there lol...forgot where some stuff was 🤣

😢😭😭😭
I don't know about the Candyman of being realistic people about a 14 year old boy who was electrocuted for killing like two girls that it was so freaking shocking
Don’t say that say his name
Would the World be better off without hate and racism?
Definitely
So I guess my real core question is What happened in that animation?
I actually do have a question about that kid on the bike well first off now that I think about it when I first saw this I think what I saw was Just a normal everyday innocent little African American teenage adult kid who was just enjoying riding his bike along side in the neighborhood and going up the hill about to go home for lunch when all of a sudden a very cruel little bully stitching girl who had pony 2 tails on the back of her head just pointed and snitched and at first I didn’t know what she was pointing at because at first I thought she was pointing at something or someone else but then as soon as I saw the other people pointing at the kid on the bike even the towns folk and the granny at first I was confused as to why where they pointing at him just like the kid in the film as he was continuing to ride his bike and then when I actually realized in my head that (I know it was still animation of shadow puppets but still real) it was actually back in the very cruel segregation times (back When MLK JR was around or not Or i don’t know) but anyway back to my point so when I actually saw the officer stopping the teenage boy on his bike saw that he was putted in prison and in court on day on his judgement day all of the cruel people blamed him for everything and he was found guilty and the judge sentenced him to death in the electric chair and after his death he was then reborn but from the bee sting but it wasn’t him no more because he now had a hook in his hand while riding his bike and started killing people at night and taking them away. Now after what I saw all of that here are the questions I have 1st, question: Why was he sent to jail? Like what did he do? Why was he blamed for Everything By the Towns people? Why was he found guilty and why did they sentence him to death in the Electric chair? Now here are very 2 important questions I must ask like Where Was This Kids Parents In All Of This? Also How In The Heck Was His Hand Replaced With A Hook Because I Didn’t See In The Film (except for the artist) That Not Only Did I Didn’t See His Hand Was Sawed Off Intact It Was Still Connected To His Wrist And Body And So Where All Of The Others (no joke Well I guess or I think for the mover who was moving in but got killed by a mad mob of people so it’s unconfirmed so we don’t know yet but we do know that he did have a hook for a hand just as the song and movie ended no joke.
He's the one and only CANDYKID.
The kid on the bike was based on a true story. He was convicted for a crime he didn’t do and was given the death sentence without a fair trial.
@@TrashManlololol what are you talking about bro

Anthony Crawford. George Stinney Jr. James Byrd Jr. All of these men were unjustly murdered by the cancerous endless cycle of bigotry, a lenient justice system, as well as all those who've enabled it. And as a result, the Candyman Hive is a monstrous faction of a racist society's own making.
The music in this series is really good.
Not a bad movie… . Also, geez I felt bad for the African American community… . Ouch
This was good!
Some of these “Candymen” are real people. The 14 year ld boy who was electrocuted for killing two white girls was so shocking. I can’t believe the atrocities some, a LOT of, us face just because of the color of our skin. Black people (anyone for that matter) are born the way we are. It’s not like it’s a choice. I’ll never understand why people need a reason to hate other people. If there was no racism, it would be hair color, eye color, whateverexcuse. Humans will always find a way to hate. I’ll never forget that South Park episode where all religion was thrown out the window in favor of science, and there were still opposing factions of science fighting wars. That’s exactly what the hell would happen, sadly.
I couldn't agree more. 14 y/o George Stinney Jr. was a scapegoat for the 1940s "justice" system towards the marginalized black community and wasn't declared innocent until some 70-odd years later. This Candyman sequel really hits all the right notes about how the titular specter, as well as all the other members of the Hive, is an allegory for generational racial injustice and what kind of monster it makes as Burke states, _"Candyman is how we deal with the fact that these things happened! That they're still happening!"_
Watching this and researching on the real life cases that were interpreted on this piece makes me ashamed and disgusted to be a white person. To know that our race is capable of so much cruelty is beyond me.
@@bandersnatch9469It's not your fault, it's just the rest of some of y'all are bad people 🤷🏾♂️
I hate them they did this to candyman and other people like candyman, they didn’t do anything wrong 😡
Agreed and I felt so sorry for the kid on the bike.
About Sherman Fields, let's take race aside for a minute: mentally unwell, hook for a hand, and handing out candy to kids. Killer, no, pedophile, still on the table.

Ok
The first one was a farmer
The second one was a new neighbor moving next door
The third one was a boy on a bike
This is a movie for BLM right?
So was the first one. If by BLM you mean complain him about bad cruel things happening to black people in history. Hell even black la had social commentary. Most of the old movies where done by the bleeding heart hippy liberals of their time. We just don’t see them as woke in hindsight because even the more traditional people’s values changed over time. Like, today you wouldn’t bat an eye at a 1960s TV show with a black and white couple. But that was “disrespectful” or “political” or “liberal” back then in its day
I liked how they used shadow puppets in the film to tell the tales, it create a creepy atmosphere around it. Plus all these tales, or events, that happen just seem so meaning and deep. You have to think of how these innocent people became victims of hate and racism had become the monster of one big hive. All representing the hate that they received from the people that did this to them and lash and kill no matter who the people are. It's gives to a meaning of this theme of an endless cycle of hate that happening everywhere still to this day.

@@thakingofdetroit gotta say I read all of the first draft of the screenplay. Looks pretty damn good, I liked how you created the backstory. Really well detailed and more into the characters as well.
@Kaitlin Bishop thank you...I appreciate the feedback...Still working on it lol.
The Main 3 Candymen that are the most terrifying are; Anthony Crawford, James Byrd Jr. and George Stinney Jr. WHY? Because if you remember how Sherman Fields looks as a Candyman, his face is horrifically swollen and his eyes are bloodshot corresponding to being beaten to death by the police and as evident by what the puppet show is telling us; Anthony Crawford (The Man with The Scythe) - His body was used for target practice by the mob that murdered him and it was mutilated beyond belief, imagine what he would look like AS a Candyman, possibly a terrifying mutilated walking corpse with the scythe he carried as his “hook”. James Byrd Jr. (The Man dragged to Death by The Truck) - Before he was dragged for three miles, they spray painted his face, urinated and defecated on him, his torture came to end about halfway along the road of his dragging, when his right arm and head were severed when his body hit a culvert, now imagine how horrific he would look coming back as a Candyman; as you can see in the puppet show, half the skin of his head his missing, exposing his skull, teeth and eyeball. and FINALLY, George Stinney Jr. (The Boy on The Bike) - As you can see in the puppet show, he is a 14 year-old child (and the youngest of the hive) riding a bike with the hook in his hand, when he was executed for the crime he didn’t commit, his face was allegedly burned beyond recognition, his legend would be the most terrifying to both children and their parents if he came back with a deformed head and face (due to the electrocution), we don’t think anyone would want to go outside at night if you hear that he “still wonders the sidewalks at night” riding same bike he rode when he was alive looking to take a child away from their parents like they took him away from HIS. Think about that.
You are beyond accurate with this long in depth comment
They definitely got the fear they were looking for here. There's something about this that's just deeply unsettling. Seeing these horrible things happen to good people in a world that won't give them justice. Then the way they become something evil, driven not by justice or ambition, but hate. They're taken over by the need to be remembered, to be avenged, so much so that they lose who they were. They're names are lost. A good man becomes an obsessed monster, an innocent child becomes a killer. The horrible things done cause them to lash out at the world, no matter who deserves it. It perpetuates this terrible cycle. Blame becomes more alluring than any sweet. Hatred, more deadly than any venom.

4:11 the rise of the hive
This movie sucked and was so disappointing for me. The idea of The Hive was a good one, but they never went anywhere with it. Why didn’t they actually show how Sherman came to actually take up the mantle of the Candyman, let alone the rest of them? Why didn’t they show how Daniel Robataille’s original Candyman actually influenced these other hive members and show how they actually came to be part of his legend? It’s so glossed over for being an apparent integral part of the new story. If anybody knows anything about the production history of this film, it’s since been leaked that the original script featured Helen as the main protagonist, which would have made more sense being as how she became a new phantom at the end of the original film. It wasn’t until DeCosta came onboard that she re-wrote the script to feature Sherman Fields and the rest of the Hive. Imo, this was where it went wrong. That original idea of Helen being the main villain would have made more narrative sense and actually would have provided a better through line back to the original. Also, the ending of this film was such shit it just falls apart. For one thing, none of the cops called his name at the end, yet when Brianna calls him, he comes for the cops and not for her. Isn’t it that anybody who calls his name in the mirror can expect to be gutted by the hook? Not here. Instead Candyman is made out to be a black Avenger of racial injustice by the end of this movie. Total horseshit, and I don’t care what anybody says because there’s plenty of black people that have reviewed this film on UA-cam that feel the same. To boot, since Sherman wasn’t even a big narrative part of this film, they could have just used Tony Todd for the role even if they didn’t use Helen as the original script had done. Why bother changing the main character when you didn’t actually flesh out his backstory enough to have a narrative impact in the first place? This movie really had the potential to bring the Candyman legend back in a fresh way but ultimately failed to do so in my opinion and wound up just being another piece of woke ideology packaged as a horror film. Again, plenty of POC on UA-cam that agree. Totally forgettable and I’ll take watching the original over this one any day.

A lot of takes on UA-cam saying the movie is not scary. I disagree. The movie is tragic, sad and the scary part is how real it feels.
What's scary is how low the bar is set to receive social justice point as a means of elevating a potentially shitty remake.

🔥🔥🔥 fuck I ain’t hear this shit
Am I the only one who doesn't like the fact that there are multiple "Candy... (Clears throat) men"??? I mean I understand what they were going for but the dude talking here is the same guy who said in an interview that this new film does not- and I quote "DOES NOT BRUTALIZE BLACK PEOPLE. BLACKS ARE NOT THE VICTIMS OR THE THREAT." umm... Did you even know what film you're in dude??? Candyman is a victim of not exactly racism because it's left vague as to who spoke about his lovers pregnancy but in this film it's told that she tattled to her father and cried about being pregnant so that's making Candyman more of a victim, but he kills because he 'has to' to stay a vengeful spirit. It feels like a ret-con because the 1992 film established only one Candyman. Now a spiritual sequel says there's more than one. Like, ok I see your point and the message you're throwing out here but you're just a little pretentious with a new theme for a Candyman movie...
Nah ....they expanded the mythology in the best possible way imo....this opens up a whole new world of stories should they choose to go that route....and personally I need more Candyman movies lol.🤷🏽♂️
And again imo ...that wasn't why he put Anthony onto that path...he was traumatized by his sister's death/salty no one remembered her..but everyone remembered Helen...he created a new Candyman to reclaim the legend so to speak...he even says it...he says something to the effect of "and he can take back what's rightfully his..his legend"... that's how I read it anyway.
@@thakingofdetroit But that's what confused me. It feels like they shoehorned a twist ending with that guy. His sister got killed cause she was stupid and summoned him and was traumatized by the ordeal but why even think about making a new Candyman? Wouldn't he want revenge for that particular Candyman killing his sister? Not add more victims to the "legend"? What was his reason to come to that conclusion? Sure, I liked that Anthony becomes the next legend like Helen did in the original but they totally just got rid of her for this one. Like, she killed a dog and saved a baby then burned to death. The end. They didn't even bother to mention that her husband died shortly after her funeral and the girl he was with was possibly framed for his murder. Like what Helen was put through. Her legend doesn't bother to make an appearance and that's why I'm so confused with the new one. Keep in mind the original film took place in 1992 and the opening of the new one takes place in 1977. They ret-conned a new victim in it before Helen was the next victim. Your opinion is yours man. But I can't help but feel the message is just butchered when it comes to mentioning anything between the 1992 film and the new one. When I think about it too much I'm confused on how they thought anything made sense all summed together.
@@ethanveda1271 revenge is one way of expressing trauma...but not the only way...trauma can manifest itself in many ways.
@@ethanveda1271 this isn't Helen's story....like at all....they paid more than enough homage to the original...and where would he (Anthony) get that information?...this is HIS story...he learns enough about the events in the original to move this story along...no more no less...also...the way this film worked whatever Candyman you were introduced to ...is the one that will appear when you call him... hence Sherman's Candyman.
